Animal’s Farm – A Protest Against Tyranny

Animal’s Farm – A Protest Against Tyranny

The story ‘Animals Farm’ by George Orwell has the political allegory where the author has focussed a criticism of British Empire through reflecting and upgrading the characters under the banner of animal farm. George Orwell had written his book ‘Animal farm” in such a state of affairs of world politics where socio economic circumstances of some countries relating to Africa, Asia and other European countries being ruled over by British regime were politically down in the dumps and tyrannized. The author thought that the super power British regime once upon a time will go down and other countries may flourish as self-determining state. In this book, he criticized the British regime in the sense that they should judge other nations and give freedom to live peacefully and ideally. According to the author, the animals are super power based as they maintain chain of command as the separate entity of a series of autonomy and basic practicality of momentary conscious life. . The animals have separate society where they can adjudicate wrong and right to lead lives controlled and cleanly. They can explore windmills to generate energy to extract foods for survival ideally and sophisticatedly. The animals are very much conscious about the well beings of other as the humans deal. Even though, the animals have besmirched humans in many occasions but in due course, the story has been finished with the victory of humans.

Humans have separate dwellings where they are independent and they have separate globes to specialize their knowledge and skills. It is a significant fact that Mr. John has tried to check the rebellion of the animals as they are found distractedness to work for the sake of humans and the animals were fully united to declare a free land for animalism. The characters that have been reflected in the book were bedded on separate features and ideologies which attenuate a separate document as a symbol of peace and harmony as visualized in terms of belligerent and shake-up. The story begins with a dream of Old Major which speaks of a separate world where there will be no humans, only the animals will survive. In this striking land, the animals will rule over the entire globe specifically created for the animals and as such they will have mighty strength and knowledge through which they will rule over humans under the banner of seven commandments. Such commandants were promulgated by the Old Major himself and he accordingly creates awareness with this true basis as set forth in terms of necessity. Sequentially, the animals have right to live with their own freedom and hopes. The other animals strived to realize their basic entity and assembled with Old Major. Having heard such postulates, Mr. Johns led attempts to foil the plan of such old pig and later, in the next day he died serenely.

Suffice it to say, the author has created a separate environment where there exists society, freedom of speaking and time to take decision on the plan of Old major. Like humans, the animals have their own jealousy, vanity and aspirations to move against each other. I don’t find anything is vital and filtrate in the animal farm without Snow ball. Snowball was very much benevolent and sympathetic with other animals as because, Benjamin and Napoleon jointly declared that they are the future predicators of animal farms but in real sense Snowball was the heart of animal farm that had intensive feelings with the object to reconstruct the animal farm. He had thrown advice to other animals that they should follow the instructions of Old Major. According to him, he was completely dedicated to well-beings of animal farm. Such extraordinary features have been vibrantly promulgated virtually. According to the contents of the story, Napoleon and Snowball are the two competitors who were rival each other. Snowball was a rigorous possessor of animalism who had no vanity in his mind. He was daring, clever and compassionate to other animals. He was very much loyal to his ancestor, Mr. John.

Having heard the death of his great master, he became remorse and dilapidated. He knew the actual truth what had happened but he had never disclosed the fact in the sense there might conflict afflictions among the animals. On the other hand, Napoleon was a cunning animal of vanity based and self callous gluttony. He led his life under false banner. He had mortification in his mind all the time; even he had lack of sincerity and modesty. Snowball was frank and accountable. He led his life very meticulously for which he was taken to task by Napoleon who has delicate vanity of his mind. Snowball had truthful outcries at the rude behaviour of Napoleon and henceforth he was being able to hide himself under the banner of dark cloud. He was bedded on courage and hardihood for which he had to tolerate unrestrained troubles while extracting hays and rebuilding windmills.

In the last part of the story, the two characters- Napoleon and Snowball had like chalk and cheese a trait which has been vivaciously reflected by George Orwell. One is the symbol of animal character and the other is bedded on pollution, lack of indignity and jealousy. In fine, the breeches of trust among other animals with Napoleon have been revitalized crucially. Not only that, the humans have won in the battle between the animals and humans which took place despite centralising the characters of strong will force, unity and chain of command amongst the animals. According to the author, the joys for animosity has been downtrodden as jealousy, vanity, tyrannies and autocracy worked in maintaining a geologized peace and harmony in question.

Cyber Bullying Lawsuit Against Facebook by New York Teenager

Cyber Bullying Lawsuit Against Facebook by New York Teenager

As reported by Reid Epstein in Newsday, a New York teenager has sued Facebook. Of course there will be a lot of furor over whether Facebook is liable for its content in this case. But, I want to focus on two related areas that I think are more important in the long run than any merits in this specific cyber bullying lawsuit.

The first area that I think is more important in the long run is the ongoing effort to make new laws in response to new crimes, especially using new technology. The natural way that we make new laws begins when some people commit acts not specifically covered under the old laws that have terrible consequences. We respond by specifically labeling those new actions as crimes, and attach what we feel are appropriate criminal penalties. Then we see, by trial-and-error, where to draw better lines. The legal system is inevitably slow, inefficient and never perfect.

Given the increasing number of lives ruined by cyber bullying, emotional harassment and abuse, especially in schools, and the number of suicides stimulated by cyber bullying, I think that our society will make laws specifically stating that false and malicious statements and postings, in addition to pornography, are illegal. I don’t think we’ll hold carriers like Facebook, MySpace, etc. liable for their postings. But I think we’ll hold them liable for ignoring complaints about specific chat groups and postings that they continue to carry.

Many states and school districts, including Kansas, Oregon and California are considering such laws to protect children and teenagers from cyber bullying.

One stumbling block in making such laws is where to draw the lines and the hidden assumption that cyberbullying laws can and should be made “just right” for all situations – never too lax, never too harsh. But the letter of the laws can never cover all situations with “just right” justice. We always depend on human wisdom in the law’s application to specific situations. That’s just the way it is – for better or for worse.

And I think that in this area, safety should triumph over cyber freedom.

The second area that I think is more important in the long run is parenting for the specific situations involving our kids and teenagers. Our job is to monitor our children:

1. Do they look like they’re having a hard time (maybe being attacked by cyberbullies)? How can we help them stop bullying on their own or do we need to intervene?

2. Are they witnessing cyber bullying and are they struggling to know whether or how to intervene?

3. Are they cyber bullies? How do we stop them and help them develop the character to make amends and do better next time?

4. Should they even be on MySpace or Facebook or any social networking sites? What else would be a better use of their time and energy?

And of course there are no easy answers. No one is really dumb enough to think there are easy solutions.

There are no safe environments. Schools and the real world have never been safe. Schools and social networks are testing grounds for the real world. And the real world is not and should not be safe. Facing risks and danger helps us develop good sense, good character and the qualities necessary to survive. Imagine growing up on a farm, in a wilderness village or in the middle ages. Not safe. I grew up in New York City. Not safe. Millennia ago we had to learn what a saber-toothed tiger’s foot prints looked like and how long ago they were left. The world still requires survival skills, even if different ones.

Our job as parents is to teach our children the skills and grit to survive in whichever jungle or battleground they live, and to protect them when they’re over-matched.

The Public School Bias Against Home Schooling Parents

The Public School Bias Against Home Schooling Parents

It’s becoming more and more obvious, as research on the success of home schooling is making clear, that home schooling is outperforming the US public school system in the quality of the education, self-esteem, and social awareness it instills in its students. And there are large numbers of public school authorities who are not happy with that realization.

The Tyranny Of Tenure

The public school system, to be fair, is saddled with regulations which make necessary change almost impossible. The tenure policy in most public school districts, for instance, prevents the firing of tenured teachers and school officials, and allows incompetent or unmotivated teachers who have hung on long enough to achieve tenure the security of lifetime employment. They are free to under educate our children whose parents cannot afford to put their children in private schools.

If tenured public school teachers were held to the same standards as private school teachers who are up for job reviews on a regular basis, they might take a different attitude toward fighting to maintain their tenured status. And home schooling might not have become the education method of choice for millions of American families.

It is nothing less than a catastrophic embarrassment for thousands of public school districts that parents with not formal training in education are outdistancing their teaching staffs in the quality of the education which they are giving their children.

Public school authorities would much prefer that the parents in their school districts operate under the belief that teaching should be reserved for degreed and state-certified teachers. But the statistics indicate that parents who home school who have never been within a mile of a teachers’ college or had a single college-level course in education are proving better teachers than those on the public school faculties.

The Eroding Tax Support

Another reason public school officials are livid about the number of parents choosing to home school is that the public school system loses, on the average, $7500 in government funding for each child removed from it. The public school system in the US is funded by tax revenues and each school district gets money according to the number of students enrolled. Form that money it pays for its teaching staff, and as the number of students drops, the number of faculty must be cut as well. Bye-bye gravy train.

Until the 1980s, in fact, home schooling parents [http://www.homeschoolresults.com/Articles/Home_Schooling_Resource.php] win most states faces truancy and neglect charges for choosing to keep their children out of the public school system. But over the last twenty-five years, parents outraged about the deteriorating public school systems have pressured the state courts to recognize their right to home school, and they now can in all fifty states. The legal home schooling requirements, however, still vary from state to state.

If the public school officials in your school district are harassing your over your decision to home school, consider joining the joining the Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA). They will provide you with legal representation should you require it in order to continue home schooling your children. Their website is at [http://www.hsdls.org].

Laws Against Cyber-Bullying – A Failure to Protect Our Kids

Laws Against Cyber-Bullying – A Failure to Protect Our Kids

The facts are black and white and cannot be denied. Cyber-Bullying is one of the major dangers that our children face. Yet laws against Cyber-Bullying are not in place to afford our children the protection they deserve and need.

As of January 27, 2010 I found that only 9 states offered any form of legislation addressing the problem and no federal action has been taken that I could find evidence of.

The 9 states that offered some form of legislation (most of which I felt did not address the situation with adequate consequences for the violator) were:

*Arkansas

*Idaho

*Iowa

*New Jersey

*Oregon

*Missouri

*New York

*Rhode island

*Vermont

How many kids need to commit suicide as the result of Cyber-Bullying for our government to realize action needs to be taken?

Our Federal Government, through either the Legislative or Judicial branches, needs to create laws to prosecute those who attack our sons and daughters in the form of Cyber-Bullying. Our States Legislative or Judicial branches need also to get involved. There are several agencies that provide strict supervision of internet activity that are in violation of laws or fair trade practices.

Where are they when it comes to the protection of our children on the internet?

The majority of the Cyber-Bullying takes place in the chat rooms and forums on the internet that are designed to attract our children. These are the same places internet sexual predators hang out to search for their victims. Any chat room or forum that promotes their services to our children as a place to hang out needs to be forced to:

*Provide only public rooms or forums for use; no private chat rooms!

*Make sure all private messages are blocked

*Make private all profile information

*Ban any uploading of photos

*Ban any emailing between participating members

*Allow for message blocking of any user by another user for any reason

*Ban the use of all webcams services

*Provide 24 hour moderation of the forums and chat rooms.

Many of these chat rooms make a very handsome profit off of the advertising raised by their services.

I think the least they can do is to provide the safety measures I have listed above to protect the children they are trying to attract to their domain.

If those practices were implemented our children would be much safer as a result. I as a parent would be happy to have my child use that service over another that does not adhere to those practices.

We need to write our State Legislators.

We need to write our Federal Legislators.

We need to let Internet Providers know we expect them to make the necessary changes in service policies to protect our kids.

We need to stand up for the safety of our kids and make sure our elected officials and Internet Service Providers know we expect action to be taken!

Affirmations are probably the easiest and most effective method – compared to the effort involved – known to influence the conscious mind. Many of the world’s most intelligent experts and philosophers have used, and are using this technique, which has been handed down over thousands of years, in various guises such as mantras and prayers. The difference today, because of the now more wide spread knowledge of this technique, is that people from all walks of life are using them to meet people, win tournaments, heal disease and close business deals.

Affirmations are quite simple by their very nature, as all they really are is simple statements repeated regularly to yourself, whether silently or aloud, and practical to you at the time. You can do them anywhere, you decide upon a statement that represents what you want to have happen to you, and then you simply repeat it to yourself over and over again.

As an example, let’s say you find yourself in a familiar situation which normally upsets you and leaves you worn out and stressed, when actually you would prefer to be relaxed and unworried by it, this would be the exact time when using a positive affirmation would be beneficial to you, and in this situation a good example of an affirmation you would repeat to yourself to help change the situation could be ” I feel calm and relaxed, I feel calm and relaxed, I feel calm and relaxed”. Now at this point it is important that you don’t try to force yourself to feel calm and relaxed, just make sure that you keep repeating the affirmation to yourself for approx 5 minutes. Another quick example of a positive use of affirmations would be prior to attending an important business meeting that you would like to go well; this time you would begin affirming to yourself a few minutes beforehand with something like this “It’s going to be a great meeting, It’s going to be a great meeting.”

So Exactly What are You Doing When You do Affirmations?

When you use affirmations you are influencing, directly, the very thoughts that are occurring at any one specific time in your mind. As your mind can only hold one thought at a time, an affirmation works by cramming your mind and filling it with thoughts that support your goal. It’s quite clever really; in a simple way the words are suggesting to your mind what it should be thinking, so if you are affirming ” It’s going to be a great meeting ” then your mind naturally begins thinking related thoughts about it being a great meeting. It really is quite simple really, but the technique can be remarkably effective in helping you achieve the results you are looking for.

How do You Know if You are Doing it Right?

Well it’s all in the words you choose, they must be POSITIVE not negative, and, as gratitude forms part of the whole attraction process, you should include words that also convey this. For example, I use the following terminology to start all of my affirmations, taught by a great mentor of mine, Bob Proctor (from The Secret, Movie) no matter what I am affirming ” I am so Happy and Grateful now”. These words you will notice also use another important aspect of affirmations, they must always be in the present tense, as if you already have whatever it is happen. So if for example you have a money affirmation to bring more financial abundance into your life you could say ” I am so Happy and Grateful Now That Money is Attracted to me and I am attracted to money” or, for more opportunities to appear to you, you could say ” I am so Happy and Grateful Now That New Opportunities are Presented to me From Multiple Sources on a Continuous Basis”

You actually don’t even need to believe what you are affirming! This mistake can have a counter effect and nullify the effects. I know of many people who have used affirmations unsuccessfully mainly because they were trying to force themselves to believe. By the way, don’t get me wrong, if you DO believe what you are affirming, this will only serve to enhance, but if you don’t, then that’s OK too. You don’t have to force anything; by the process of repetition your mind will pick up the content of your affirmations and will therefore allow the correct thoughts into your consciousness.

You must also keep your affirmations reasonably short and to the point, easy to say and easy to repeat over and over again. I try to keep my affirmations to a maximum of 25 words, sometimes a lot less. Even 2 or 3 words can sometimes be an effective affirmation, short statements like ” I have tremendous success always” or ” I achieve record sales ” I have seen affirmations that were a full page long. There’s absolutely no chance that you can repeat an affirmation of that length in an effective manner, and I have found with people who have affirmations which are too long, soon tire of the repetition and the affirmation soon fizzles out. So the lesson here is, make it short and make it easy to say and repeat.

Also be very careful that you do not use your affirmations in a careless way that means they may work against you, for example statements like ” I’ll never get it done” I’ll never do it” I always lose” are all affirmations that you can easily find yourself repeating to yourself without even realizing it, so watch out for these.

So remember that anybody can create affirmations and use them effectively throughout the day to help accomplish the things that they want. They can be said anywhere, in the doctor’s waiting room, in a traffic jam, they don’t need to be believed, all you have to do is repeat them. I repeat my affirmations 5 times per day, however this is my personal preference which works well for me, but if I was to recommend a minimum I would say 3 times per day, first thing when you get out of bed in the morning – this sets the tone for the rest of the day – secondly, at lunch time – this helps to re-motivate you when typically you might be flagging – and thirdly just before you go to sleep – this is when your subconscious mind is in its most receptive state. Two or three minutes is all you need, start doing this now and commit to repeating every day and you will be amazed at how quickly you will begin to produce a noticeable affect.

As people begin to realize the importance and value of our thoughts in creating the life we desire (or the life we have, but would like to change), affirmations can be instrumental in re-training ourselves in how to think. Before we begin thinking, we start out a relatively clean slate.

As we pick up beliefs and ways of thinking throughout life we begin to think that who we think we are is who we actually are.  This is not the absolute truth.  In actuality, we are much more than we could ever imagine and the negative stuff we have picked up along the way is something we can part with, because it’s not our true essence.

The purpose of affirmations is to affirm the truth and desires about ourselves and our circumstances. What can happen as we begin to focus on what we want and actually verbalize those desires in the form of affirmations, is the stuff that gets in our way will let itself be known.  This is the stuff that life has caused us to believe is really us.

Are affirmations a way to circumvent reality?  Some people use them that way, but clearly intentional use will yield the truth every time: affirmations only affirm what is really inside.  It just needs some affirmation to be fully realized, inside and out.

When people view an affirmation as a band-aid to a problem, the problem they are referring to is the stuff that has stopped you from feeling that the affirmation is true, through and through. Affirmations are most useful when put into practice as a tool to help one get to know him or herself better through clarifying wants and determining unhelpful thoughts and patterns so they can be released.  That ensures the affirmation is healing the cause and not being used as a band-aid.

Your True Self knows you are totally lovable and loving, that you have every resource available to you (even if it is in a different form than you may expect), and that you can make your life into what you want it to be. However, your ego or inner critic, will tell you otherwise.

Practicing affirmations deserves your full attention.  It is of great value to bring affirmations into your life to invite the stuff blocking your way to come up and show you where you can let go and let your True Self shine through. All you need to do is make a simple commitment to yourself: I will be open to be with what is coming up.

You do not always need to know exactly what the issue is that is presenting itself, or the root cause. If it does show itself to you, that is fine. If not, the feeling can still be tended to.

When uncomfortable feelings or thought patterns rise to the surface, much like bubbles coming up from an underwater spring, allow yourself to be with them. Take a few deep breaths and refrain from giving them names (if they don’t have a script running already) or getting involved in the story that goes with them. Ask your feeling or thought what they are about if you desire. Know that acknowledging the uncomfortable feeling will help it dissolve. Do not push against it for that is what has kept it with you to this point.

If you find yourself resisting feeling negative emotion simply remember that it is okay to feel what you feel!  Dealing with painful or stressful emotions or thoughts can be well handled through first allowing yourself to feel them by deeply breathing and following your breath into your body while imagining it cleansing and honoring the emotion, and second, seeking out some techniques to assist if they persist. Working through emotions can be achieved through a coaching session as well.

To get started with affirmations, it is as easy as bringing to mind some statements that on some level you know to be true or you would like to feel the truth of such as: I love me. I am perfect, whole, and worth of goodness. I am financially free. Begin by saying and writing these statements to yourself at least 5 times per day, 10-20 will have a more profound effect. This is the power of changing your thoughts with deliberate action.

As you progress, remember the importance of allowing whatever is standing in your way to come up and dissolve. It may also be helpful to ask yourself questions about your affirmations such as

How would it be possible for me to be financially free?

Why do I love myself?

What about me is perfect and whole?

It is initially natural to question one’s self so use your mind to your advantage in this manner!

Affirmations are not a band-aid.  They are an affirmation of who you truly are and what you can truly do with your life when you learn to believe them.  To believe something you must think it over and over again.

Using affirmations is helpful along any journey to self-love and conscious creation of your life.  It is important to realize that creating affirmations with clear intention is a learned skill.  Start with affirmations that are just out of your belief, but you think may be true. For instance, if saying I love me to yourself feels funny, but sort of true you can stretch it to include other affirmatve statements like I love me and I am fun to be around or I am open to loving myself and I am learning to like myself.

To help yourself get out of your own way, be gentle with yourself as you change and grow and modify your affirmations as necessary.  If an affirmation does not feel good, change it!  Use affirmations daily and often for as long as you desire and know that many people use them for months to feel and notice a substantial change.  We create our thought patterns that are not helpful and use them for decades.  To re-train ourselves it takes some time as well.  Perseverance pays off!

When saying an affirmation to yourself get centered first, take a deep breath, and connect with the feeling of your affirmation, believing it to be true.  In combination with becoming aware of what stands in your way and a commitment to unite with your true self, affirmations are a great tool to discover the true you!

FDA Takes Action Against Compounded HRT Drugs – What It Means To You

FDA Takes Action Against Compounded HRT Drugs – What It Means To You

In a blow to certain drug makers, the FDA has sent letters warning seven pharmacy operations that the claims they make about the safety and effectiveness of their so-called “bio-identical hormone replacement therapy,” or “BHRT” products are unsupported by medical evidence, and are considered false and misleading by the agency. According to the FDA, they are concerned that unfounded claims like these mislead women and health care professionals.

Bioidentical hormones are custom-mixed formulas containing various hormones that are designed to be chemically identical to those naturally made by your body. These prescription and over-the-counter products are marketed as being superior to other FDA-approved HRT regimens, and are tailored to a woman’s individual hormone needs, typically determined through saliva hormone testing. Manufacturers claim that bioidentical hormones are even safer than standard, FDA-approved hormone therapy.

The FDA states that the pharmacy operations in question improperly claim that their drugs, which contain hormones such as estrogen, progesterone, and estriol (which is not a component of an FDA-approved drug and has not been proven safe and effective for any use) are superior to FDA-approved menopausal hormone therapy drugs and prevent or treat serious diseases, including Alzheimer’s disease, stroke, and various forms of cancer.

The FDA is concerned that the claims for safety, effectiveness, and superiority that these pharmacy operations are making mislead patients, doctors and other health care professionals. Compounded drugs are not reviewed by the FDA for safety and effectiveness, and the FDA encourages patients to use FDA-approved drugs whenever possible. The warning letters issues by the FDA state that the pharmacy operations violate federal law by making false and misleading claims about their hormone therapy drugs.

“We want to assure that Americans receive accurate information about the risks and benefits of drug therapies,” said Dr. Janet Woodcock, FDA’s chief medical officer and acting director of the agency’s Center for Drug Evaluation and Research. “In addition to today’s regulatory action, FDA is publishing an informational article for women on its consumer health information web page that provides the facts to make informed decisions about these unapproved therapies. Women taking these drugs should discuss with their health care providers the drugs’ risks and whether they’re getting effective treatment.” (see http://www.fda.gov/consumer/updates/bioidenticals010908.html for more info on the FDA’s stance on BIO HRT.)

So, what does this mean to your menopause symptoms treatment options? The most important thing to consider is that no drug product containing estriol has been approved by FDA and the safety and effectiveness of estriol is unknown. There are, however, many natural and alternative treatments for menopausal symptoms that ARE proven safe and effective.

Herbal menopause treatment, for example is a natural and increasingly popular alternative, since it is gentle and works in harmony with the woman’s body. However, it is important that a woman taking herbs should tell her doctor because just as with prescription drugs, herbs can also present possible interactions with other drugs or herbs, thus causing side effects. Additionally, there are a number of foods and herbs that include natural plant estrogens, known as phytoestrogens, which are hormone regulators of natural progesterone and estrogen. These too can be very beneficial in the treatment of menopausal symptoms.

“Menopause Formula” is herbal-based and an all-natural nutritional supplement that contains phytoestrogens. Soy products also contain phytoestrogens and may be helpful in reducing hot flashes and osteoporosis, along with treatment of vaginal dryness. It is important to remember that the effects of soy protein, which is found in whole foods, soy protein isolates, and products containing isoflavone isolates, may not all be the same. Some other alternatives for herbal menopause treatment include black cohosh, which relieves menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes and night sweats, and chaste tree, which has a calming and soothing effect along with noted relief of headaches and tenderness of the breasts.

Wild yam is yet another option to herbal menopause treatment, containing compounds that are similar to progesterone and very helpful in relaxing muscle spasms while also reducing inflammation associated with menopause-related symptoms. Last but not least is rosemary. This particular herb is excellent for treating headaches and circulatory problems, while also fighting free radicals in the body and relaxing the stomach for better digestion. These and other natural alternatives have not been scientifically proven but have been used by many healthy women for years. Therefore, for the woman tired of taking prescription medication or just dealing with the symptoms of menopause, these and other natural remedies are highly recommended.

Dentist Marketing Deals With Complaints Against Dental Assistants

Dentist Marketing Deals With Complaints Against Dental Assistants

The majority of dental marketing assistants strive to ensure the best quality remedy readily available for all affected individuals. However, there are those who don’t live up to the expectations of the individual. The patient has the right to address this issue with the dental facility. If they do not sense that their complaint has been properly handled, they can then submit a complaint with the State Dental Board.

State Dental Boards are in charge of regulating dental practices. These people strive to safeguard the population towards inappropriate actions by dental marketing assistants, dental hygienists, and dentists. They are there to thoroughly check out all grievances filed that involve competency. State Dental Boards do not deal with complaints like fee disputes, character clashes, rude or obnoxious actions, or difficulty with scheduling appointments in a timely way. These kind of issues should be forwarded to the Better Business Bureau. It’s crucial to file a complaint with the State Dental Board as quickly as possible to allow then to be of the most assistance. The majority of states enable you to register your complaint on the web, over the phone, or you can ask for a form be delivered to you in the postal mail. Some states will only acknowledge a complaint on paper.

Dental marketing assistants need to understand the process that affected individuals go through if they have a complaint. Dental Assistants need to be cooperative during the investigation. If a dentist assistant feels a patient will submit a complaint, it is important to write down as much information as possible. This information has to include the patient’s name, date, time, and what happened. Also any spoken interactions and all who were present to witness the actual episode will be documented. This information is going to be invaluable for you and to the State Dental Board. The Dental Board works hard to solve the matter as quickly as possible. Some complaints are solved in just a few days while some linger for a long time. Once a grievance has been registered, a duplicate of it is sent to the dental facility for a response. Generally, the dental care facility is provided a specific time frame to have their reply back to the State Dental Board.

As soon as the reaction is received and examined, the Dental Board will compare the data to that on the grievance. After that, a course of action is going to be mapped out. This usually involves doing interviews of all parties present during the occurrence. A panel is placed to investigate if any dental laws and regulations were violated. If there is apparently a violation, a hearing is going to be planned. The dental marketing assistant is going to be notified as well as instructed to show up for that hearing. In the event the dental marketing assistant is found to be in violation of dental laws, the Dental Board will issue a reprimand. This depends on the state rules as well as the violation. Reprimands might include a letter of apology, suspension, probation, or perhaps cancellation of the Dental Assistant’s permit. The Dental Board isn’t permitted to demand financial compensation. If the individual filing the complaint wishes to be compensated in that way, they’ll have to file a civil suit with their local judicial system.

Dental Assistants who end up in the middle of a complaint issue with the Dental Board are more likely to experience nervousness and also dread. Many dental amenities will provide the individual with counseling in addition to legal sessions. In most cases, it depends on the concern the Dental Board is looking into. If the dental care facility backs the Dental Assistant they’ll do all they can. However, if they sense that the Dental Assistant is at violation of dental care polices they may eliminate the individual, leaving him to pay for his own defense. It’s the obligation of the dental marketing assistant to follow all policies and methods properly. When you have any uncertainty, take some time to have everything spelled out to you. Losing a grievance within the Dental Board can cost you your work, along with your career. Should you lose your license, you may find it difficult to obtain another job within the profession as a Dental Assistant. Making certain you comply with guidelines and methods will ensure that you have a great chance of winning such complaints upon a complete review and analysis by the Dental Board.

When surgery is indicated, there are several different types your surgeon may perform. In a mastectomy, the entire breast is removed. Family Dynamics of Addiction – Family Systems Can Work For Or Against Your Recovery

Family Dynamics of Addiction – Family Systems Can Work For Or Against Your Recovery

Alcoholics/addicts do not normally live in a circle made up exclusively of alcoholics and addicts. Most people suffering from addictions have a multitude of people in their lives who are affected by the addiction. Even alcoholics and addicts that are estranged from their significant others, whether spouses or parents, or siblings, of their children, impact the lives of those who love them. When there is addiction in your family, it is vital to get help, even if you are not the addict.

One of the reasons that it is essential for entire household to obtain support and services is the systemic nature of families. In a system, each part affects and is affected by all the parts. Changes in one part (person) of a system affects the whole system in a host of ways.

When teaching about family dynamics of addiction and recovery and explaining how a family system can operate to help or hinder the recovery of the alcoholic/addict, I will use a mobile to illustrate. Imagine if you will, a mobile with two grandparent generation figures on the top, two parents on the second tier, and three children on the third tier, then a dog and cat on the bottom tier. This mobile is hanging from the ceiling. It has a natural equilibrium, or balance, to it.

Now imagine a weight slowly being applied to one of the parent figures (it does not matter which one). As the strain is applied, all figures on the mobile adjust and adjust to accommodate the change in the altered parent. It flops around a bit as the weight is applied. As it settles in, the mobile has adapted a new equilibrium or balance.

Imagine now, that the parent figure with the weight (or addiction) suddenly has the weight removed. All parts of that system will be flopping around trying to re-establish an equilibrium. This is what happens in an addicted family system. Each part of that system affects every other part-even in recovery. As the relatives of an addict change their own behavior to accommodate the addict’s changes, each family member tends to develop maladaptive characteristics and traits.

In the course of survival, the essence of relationships between family members changes. The non-addicted spouse often takes on more and more responsibilities and roles within the family. A marriage that was once a relationship between equals may change to one of caretaking or “parenting” the other. Power in the relationship shifts.

As the addiction progresses in the addict, so do the family dynamics of addiction. The course of those changes is predictable. The rules within the system changes as the members eventually reorganize without the addict. The alcoholic/addict may still be physically present, but may become emotionally absent and withdrawn from the family. Significant others often quit trying to re-engage the addict, and begins to carry on with life without him/her. These behavioral adjustments change the organization and functioning of the system, in the same process that addiction changes the system.

When the alcoholic/addict sobers up, this signals another change in the system. Family members may not know what to do with this change. As the alcoholic/addict tries to regain full functioning in the different areas of their lives, family members who have changed to adjust to the addiction may resist the relationship changes that recovery needs. The “parenting” spouse may resist giving up the need to parent the other spouse. They may oppose the thought of the alcoholic taking back responsibilities abandoned in the addiction or may still perceive the addict as “incompetent” and “untrustworthy”. And, indeed, trust is a relationship attribute that takes a long time to return.

The spouse who has taken on more and more of the responsibilities as the addict has abandoned them, may be deeply invested in being “the responsible one”, or “the good parent”, and may need an “incompetent one” or “the bad parent”, to counterbalance their role in the system. Families can resist the recovery changes in the addict in many ways. Spouses (and children) may even say “I liked you better stoned/drunk.”

Often, loved ones like the alcoholic/addict just the way they are, with exception to the inappropriate, unpredictable behavior and the usual negative consequences of their addiction. They may share the alcoholic/addict’s notions that all they need is to lose the addiction and everything else in their lives will be fine. Alcoholics/addicts and their family members may hold on to the notion that they will be able to learn to drink without the natural negative consequences associated with it.

Family systems typically contain more than one alcoholic/addict. In fact, there are usually layers of addiction in families. Frequently, there are two alcoholic spouses. Sometimes the addiction has progressed so much further in one of the spouses that it is more apparent that this spouse has addiction, when the addiction of the other partner is not so obvious. With many addicts in a family, there would be multiple family structures, roles, and rules that would tend to promote the continuing use of alcohol or other drugs. A typical example would be family celebrations that continue to involve alcohol.

On the other hand, family members often have the hidden expectation that a sober alcoholic will turn into the person that the family member always wanted them to be. It is very common that family members have identified many of the addict’s undesirable personality characteristics or behavior as “the addiction” and believe that with the absence of the chemical, the addict’s true self will emerge. Although many family members see a preview of the wonderful changes in the addict in the honeymoon period of recovery, sustained personality and behavioral changes occur over time.

Thus, the recovering addict is subject to the hidden expectations of his/her family members, regardless of whether the family expect him/her to miraculously be the person they always wanted now that the chemical is absent from their lives, or whether they expect the addict to stay the same, but without the drugs.  The recovering addict often has a hard time trying to figure out where they fit in the family, how they feel about other family members, and how to stay clean and sober amidst conflicting expectations.  It is however, always helpful for everyone to remember that each recovering person is responsible for their own recovery.
