What is Mindfulness?

The concept of mindfulness has actually been around for thousands of years. Its origins can be found in the earliest Buddhist teachings (2500 years ago). It has been used over the centuries in traditional eastern contemplative practices like Hatha Yoga and other meditation practices. Zen masters taught mindfulness to enlightened monks in the ultimate acceptance of their own existence.

However, the way we use the term here, Mindfulness should not be confused with inward focused mysticism or spirituality. Today Mindfulness not only refers to the acceptance of one’s reality but what one does with that reality. As we use it, Mindfulness is the skill of living in the moment and relating to the world in a nonjudgmental and reflexive as oppose to reactive fashion.

In recent years, science and westernization have adapted Mindfulness so that it can be cultivated daily, used without years of practice, and be compatible and useful within almost any modern human activity. Mindfulness is simply an introspective method for grounding your thoughts, emotions and behaviors in the reality you are currently experiencing, so you can stand back, observe, understand yourself more fully and take care of your needs.

The act of Mindfulness is the ability to focus your attention on your inner thoughts while letting go of past or future worries. It will take some practice to witness your thoughts popping up and then going away without self-criticism, but it can be achieved by most people without extensive training, just daily practice. For instance, just watching your breathing can have a calming effect on your mind and slowly restore your sense of well-being. When you quiet your thoughts about what you have to do and your feelings dictating what you want to do, your intuitive mind takes over. Here you gently move from dwelling on the past or future to being focused on what you are doing right at this moment. Being in this state of Mindfulness allows you to listen to your gut and discover what you truly need. Mindfulness allows you to acknowledge your feelings, witness your thoughts and redirect yourself away from distraction.

We live in era of constant upheaval and change. Actually, most of us get through life on autopilot. Our brain gets filled with restless ideas and memories that are hard to keep track of especially when we become stressed. We tend to “tune out” and just “try to get through the day.”

Everyone’s mind naturally wanders, but when you practice Mindfulness you are aware of your mind wandering and can gradually redirect it back to the present. Mindfulness allows you to gently quiet all the noise in your head. Paying attention to your breathing, tracking your thoughts, or scanning your body for tension are just few of the many ways to reduce mental chatter. With Mindful practice, you can learn to remove the tendency to jump to conclusions, make assumptions and idle judgments, and recognize that your negative or positive feelings are coming from you and not the external world around you.

Dr Marsha Linehan, founder of Evidence Based Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) says we need to adopt a “Reflexive Mind” in order to cope with distress and change. Here, your mind is trained to act like Teflon, nothing sticks to it long enough to attach. Mindfulness has been shown to bring calmness and patience to those who embrace the practice. People who practice daily Mindfulness are processing life rather than analyzing its content. The ultimate state of Mindfulness is mental resiliency.

In fact Mindfulness can also help you stay focused and aware even when you are engaged in mundane activities such as driving, eating, and walking. Research has shown its positive effects on boosting the immune system, managing pain, reducing stress and cultivating personal awareness.

A beginning Mindful sequence may involve:

- Sitting in a quiet and comfortable location

- Thinking about where you are and what you are doing at this very moment

- Closing your eyes

- Allowing thoughts about what already or will happen move in an out of your consciousness with your non-judging mind and gentle persuasion

- Focusing on the sensations of breathing each breath and noticing what that does to your belly, nostrils and lungs

- Making note of every thought and feeling that comes up and then returning to your breathing to further anchor your attention

- Observing your mind but, not getting stuck on any one particular thought or feeling as your breathing becomes more natural, full and steady

- Opening your eyes and looking at something you have seen before with a fresh perspective.

What are Affirmations?

Affirmations are declarative statements about something you now know, did, or intend to do. When you use an Affirmation you are not only being aware of your thoughts, but you are taking conscious control of them. When you say, write, read or even think of an Affirmation, you are, in effect, taking steps to acknowledge what is worthwhile about you.

Studies have shown that most of our daily thoughts are negative. Working with Affirmations makes you aware of how self-defeating thoughts chip away at your creativity. Affirmations help you create a new reality and visualize what you essentially want out of life.

Negativity can threaten your health and happiness. In fact, when you are not paying attention to your thinking, you are more liable to pessimistic and not realistic or optimistic. The more you are aware of what you are actually telling yourself, the more upbeat you will sound. Using command based phraseology, keeping the Affirmation in the present tense and making it reality based offers you more reinforcement. Repeatedly telling yourself that you are, or will be, deserving, healthy, and successful, the more your positive determination will flow. You’re more likely to see a bounce in your step and a lift in your life by using daily Affirmations.

What are Mindful Affirmations?

Mindful Affirmations ” are not just inspirational sayings. We use the term as thought provoking phrases that loosely derive from Mindfulness ideas of Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn, who founded the medical and meditative models of Mindfulness. He came up with Eight Stations of Mindful Meditation:

- Smile

- Breathe

- Arrive

- Attend

- Find the essence

- Slow down

- Listen

- See things with a new perspective

Mindful Affirmations incorporate one or more of these active stations into each passage in order to support the Mindful notion of keeping an “open mind,” where possibilities have no limits. They are not meditations as used by Dr Zinn and others. Mindful Affirmations take ordinary Affirmations like “Your self-confidence will carry you on,” and make them more reality based so the reader can gradually acknowledge and accept the truth about their life. An example of expanding the above Affirmation into a Mindful Affirmation would be “I barely thought of my own self-worth until I saw myself going backwards in life. Letting myself go and losing all I had gained made me feel stuck and dependent. I now see how harnessing my self-esteem can help me not only find my way but, carry me through life.”

This phraseology helps to evoke not only the reader’s subconscious mind, but keeps the reader focused on the key of Mindfulness, just being in the moment.

Pain is about growth and is inevitable. Unfortunately, too many of us have become addicted to suffering… but suffering is optional! Mindful Affirmations make our conscious and subconscious minds look at our pain and release our fears about the unknown. Our inner subconscious mind has the desire for change but doesn’t know just what to change or how to do it. Our outer conscious mind desires to be relaxed, in balance and accept our state of affairs. When working in concert our two minds remove expectations/accusations and allow us to gently examine our feelings, thoughts and behaviors about the past without dwelling or being judgmental.

When Mindful Affirmations are written in the first person they can help the reader not only empathize with the writer, but slowly begin to accept and validate their own pain, saying inside themselves, “I guess I am not alone.” Mindful Affirmations not only break down the reader’s self-imposed isolation but offer them options for change such as in the passage, “I now see that responding rather than reacting will build a healthy interpersonal world for myself.”

It has been my clinical experience that each time I ask a patient to read a Mindful Affirmation, they mention to me that they now see their old problem in a different way. One of the core values of Mindfulness is to be able to see yourself and the world around you with a “new set of eyes.”

The focus is on accepting, commitment and learning (refers to “ACT” therapy) a new way of living or looking at life. Mindful Affirmations help the reader’s mind stay engaged while supporting the surrender of old baggage and unfulfilled expectations.

Mindful Affirmations use positive assertions like “I feel happy,” but allow our present awareness to reinforce our declaration giving us clarity of thought to see our options. It is a coping strategy. For example, the statement “When I am stressed I make myself sit and take notice of my surroundings,” supports your inner desire to stay calm and centered rather than be overwhelmed and scattered.

The book takes Affirmations to the next level by first talking about how “I” (the reader) arrived at the state of not being able to take control, what resulted, and how “I” plan to take command of my life in the future.

Using these three components to the Affirmation not only supports the drive to do better, but plants the seed more firmly that “I” will make progress and “I” can learn from my past. Mindful Affirmations are cyclical in nature. Each time a negative feeling comes up the reader has a choice to make good or bad decisions. The truth is that we are more likely to accomplish what we set out to do, if we are keenly aware of how the past made us feel and what consequences may lie ahead.

Mindful Affirmations help you not only face reality, but look beyond it by challenging your old mental dialogue with a new perspective. Mindful Affirmations allow you to step back from life enough to examine regrets and embrace new options. Mindful Affirmations help you discover that who you really are is what keeps you alive, vital and present.

Managing Conflict at Work Versus Managing Personal Conflict – 4 Differences You Should Be Aware Of

Managing Conflict at Work Versus Managing Personal Conflict – 4 Differences You Should Be Aware Of

While managing conflict at work and managing conflict in personal relationships requires many of the same skills, there are four important differences that you should be aware of. Knowing these differences will help you to navigate the different challenges of these situations with greater success.

Personal conflicts can be more destructive.

We feel a greater freedom to say much more destructive things to those we love than we will say to people we work with. While there are plenty of bad behaviors in the office, rarely will someone scream “I hate you” to a co-worker. Such unprofessional behavior would likely not be tolerated by management.

There are two other reasons that personal conflicts can be more destructive: (1) there is a higher emotional intensity to the conflict in a personal relationship than in a conflict at work, and (2) we know more precisely what to say to hurt someone in a personal relationship because we know them better.

Work conflicts have less emotional impact.

The emotional consequences of failing to manage conflict at work will generally be less devastating than failure to manage conflict in a personal or romantic relationship. Because we tend to expose more of our private thoughts and have less of a protective shell in a personal relationship, failure to manage conflict will be more destructive. The emotional impact of a divorce is likely to be far greater and last longer than losing a job. While both work and personal conflicts need to be managed carefully, resolving the personal conflict will require more effort but will deliver more rewards.

Personal conflicts have different expectations.

When managing conflict at work there is less of a need to make the other person feel loved or to take into account personal feelings. Of course we never want to have destructive conflict in any situation, but in work conflict getting results and reaching company objectives can be more important than hurt feelings. In a personal conflict, feelings may be paramount so extra time and effort may need to be invested.

Conflict at work can be arbitrated by a higher authority.

In a work conflict there is “boss” or other higher authority that can settle the dispute and impose a solution if the parties can’t resolve it themselves. Even when the parties in a personal conflict seek out a counselor, the counselor doesn’t have the ability to impose a solution if everyone is not in agreement. Because in a work situation a superior can impose a solution, it is easier to resolve work conflict.

Being aware of these four differences will make you more effective at managing conflict at work and in your personal relationships.

Success can be your reality on the path of enlightenment, if you reprogram your life for it using affirmations which align with your true desires and the voice of your Soul.

For example, one of the simplest affirmations can begin your journey on the path of enlightenment if you declare it, believe it, and then commit to “being” the affirmation. That simple affirmation of only three words is “I am awake.”

“I am awake.” It can be the most profound affirmation you can proclaim and this declaration can truly revolutionize your life. To be awake is to affirm your right to create your reality as a divine being. As such, you have made a quantum leap from victim-hood to co-creating your life with the cosmos. And with this quantum leap you have the power to direct the flow of positivity, creativity, and productivity in your life.

Some would say, you are “unplugged” from the trappings of the Matrix…Either way, you are free.

And because you are free, the same is true about your success on the path of enlightenment. It doesn’t matter what anyone says or thinks. Once you have affirmed your commitment to success on the path of enlightenment, success is your reality and it becomes your experiences in life.

This commitment to success on the path of enlightenment doesn’t happen because you repeat a bunch of affirmations. It happens when you “become”, believe, and thus, are “being” the affirmation.

It is easy to say the affirmation, “I am infinite potential with infinite creativity flowing through me. I use this creativity to take right action and inspired action in my life which manifests for my highest good. As a result of being a willing vessel for good, I draw to my reality success on the path of enlightenment which helps me to create more life–more life which will advance me in my purpose as I prosper.”

This is a very powerful affirmation; however, it is a more powerful affirmation when you are being the affirmation. Now some among us might ask, “How can I “be” an affirmation?” Now this answer reveals a metaphysical secret to success.

It is through the Art and Science of Being and Becoming that we are able to “be” the affirmation we habitually speak. It happens because “being” is the process of allowing or remaining aware in the Presence (present moment awareness). Being allows the flow of oneness and creativity to continue in the present and empowers you with the ability to pre-construct through right action or inspired action the reality you want to experience in your life.

Accordingly, as you declare your affirmations in the present moment as if they “are” with words like “I am,” you are “becoming” the affirmation. You become the affirmation because you are “one” with the affirmation. However, it is when you believe the affirmation, that you are “being” the affirmation and the affirmation is “realized.” When the affirmation is “realized” it manifests as such in your reality.

Yes, we are just that powerful in this holographic time-space-reality network, if we unplug from the energy zapping programs and systems of the matrix and create our reality as we desire it to be.

Metaphysical principles including the Cosmic Law of Vibration and the Cosmic Law of Attraction govern the power of affirmations. Affirmations can help. When we declare our success through affirmations which align with our true desires, we direct the flow of positivity, productivity, and creativity in our lives. Positivity, productivity and creativity result in success. In other words, we should “be” the success we desire.

Until Next time, know that your success is a cosmic celebration and remember to “Let the Creative Spirit move you.”

Powerful Affirmations are a constructive and time-tested way to creating real change that lasts, but unless you have crafted your affirmations correctly to cater for your needs and desires, over time you may not experience the change or results you were looking for. You might have other great methods for making positive change such as goal lists, dream cards, vision boards etc. Though affirmations are by far the ultimate tool to add to your self-growth toolbox. Affirmations take on the role of aligning your desires with your personal beliefs.

When they do become in harmony with one another, manifesting your goals and dreams become virtually effortless. Using affirmations correctly is crucial to making them effective and aligning yourself. If you’re not using them correctly or you feel your affirmations are not working for you could be striking a misalignment. For example. You may have a list of affirmations that you have come up with that you want to start working with in your life. If you find when you are saying your affirmations that you don’t truly believe it, then this can cause misalignment. An easy way to identify a misalignment towards particular affirmations is to take your attention into how you feel when you say them. Is there any feeling of inner conflict or inadequacy? Any uncomfortable feeling in your stomach or chest that disagrees with what you’re saying? If you feel this in any way, this is where you’re causing the misalignment.

You’re saying the Affirmations but your subconscious doesn’t agree or want to believe it yet. Affirmations work tremendously well, as for my own experiences. It’s just a matter of crafting and wording them well. When creating your first set of powerful positive affirmations, there is a simple but one powerful formula you can use. First, identify what’s bothering you and what you want to change. There could be a few you come up with to do with your finances, your health or relationships. The second step is to identify the exact opposite of what you don’t want. For example financial freedom or toned body. Finally, find a word or phrase that sums up its opposite quality. Keep it general and add the words “I am” at the start of the phrase. For a complete example. If you feel you are struggling financially, you may often think ‘poor’ thoughts, sometimes without being aware. Well the opposite of ‘poor’ is clearly ‘wealth’.

So you would make an affirmation where you’re saying “I am wealth”. Once you come up with a few powerful and positive affirmations, it’s important you test them out. When you test your affirmations make sure you feel good and satisfied about yourself. Keep an eye out for any discomfort or inadequacy. It’s sometimes only a matter of changing and searching for the right words till you find something that you are comfortable with. You will know when you’ve found the right word, when you feel comfortable saying your affirmation and it feels true to you. So, referring back to our example. If you say “I am rich” and the word ‘rich’ just doesn’t feel right or bothers in any way, this word is probably not suitable and clashes with you in some way. Try changing it up a little like “I am comfortable and secure in my finances” or “I am financially independent”. Sculpture your affirmations to any area of your life.

Make them powerful and satisfying. If you feel uplifted and smile when you say them, you’ve got it. You can craft affirmations towards anything of material and spiritual, and are very effective. Once you’ve compiled your set of tested affirmations and are happy with them. Get into practice saying them twice a day, but at least once a day. The best time is in the morning just after waking up. This is a great time because your mind is not fully active yet. Between sleep and waking your brain is in Alpha mode, it’s relaxed and you can conduct your affirmations before your thoughts start getting too busy and any kind of negative thought starts. If you are to do it twice a day, which is recommended, especially when you’re first starting out with your affirmations, repeat it like mantra at certain times throughout your day.

Preferably when you’re not to occupied, like when you’re on a break or even whilst driving. Repeating your powerful positive affirmations daily will set your tone, making it set like cement into your mind. The power behind the simple words “I am” can transform your life. You will notice after time that your default way of thinking has altered and any previous conditioning or thoughts about yourself or life has gradually diminished. When you start to notice the difference in your thinking, and notice you are thinking more positively this is a sign that you’re affirmations are working. You’ve aligned your desires with your beliefs. You will start to manifest new and better things out of your new thought patterns. You now have ingrained within your mind, a more dominant positive thinking pattern, with repeated use of powerful positive affirmations.

The affect of powerful positive thinking can have on your life is tremendous! The Law of Attraction responds to every thought we have, be it positive or negative. What Are The Wheat Allergy Symptoms To Be Aware Of

What Are The Wheat Allergy Symptoms To Be Aware Of

People who suffer from a wheat allergy need to know what the wheat allergy symptoms to be aware of are as well as how to avoid them. A person who suffers from wheat allergies may experience chest pains, dizziness, vomiting or nausea, skin rash and bloating. Mood changes, arthritis, swelling of the tongue or the throat, eye irritation and coughing and a stuffy nose also are symptoms of a wheat allergy. The wheat allergy symptoms might also be a sign of some other medical condition. You should seek medical advice before self-diagnosing any of the symptoms you might have at the time.

With so many symptoms to watch for if you suffer from a wheat allergy, you might not even consider that you have an allergy. Arthritis seems to be a concern for allergy suffers. One might wonder how a wheat allergy can cause such a medical condition. It has been said that the wheat products cause changes in the gut structure, which in turn promotes arthritic development in people who are prone to the disease. There are many studies being conducted to find more relevant information on the affects of wheat allergies and arthritis to further address the problem.

What are the wheat allergy symptoms to be aware of that can cause more severe medical problems? The answer to this is the chest pains. Constant chest pains from a wheat allergy might be the wrong diagnosis as an allergy instead of a heart problem. This can be alarming and requires more of a professional diagnose. A doctor will more than likely order some tests to rule out heart conditions or allergies before advising you of a treatment. If you do have a wheat allergy that is causing the chest pains, you need to refrain from wheat and wheat by products to eliminate the pain.

Wheat allergy symptoms can be mild to severe depending on your tolerance level to wheat. Many people have a low tolerance for wheat while others suffer from severe symptoms from a wheat allergy. One must also remember that if you have a low tolerance to wheat products you cannot just stop consuming wheat products and then a few years later start eating wheat products again. You will no longer have a low tolerance level, you will have an allergy to wheat. This is something every person has to consider when dealing with the wheat allergy problem.

You’ve probably heard that saying affirmations over and over again can change your life. Or that viewing your affirmations on a daily basis can create changes. Or you might have cds that play affirmations for you.

But do affirmations really work?

The answer is yes and no.

Let me explain.

The right affirmations, done properly and applied with other techniques can really make a difference. The wrong affirmations, said the wrong way and not applied properly will be completely ineffective and can create disasters in your life.

So just how do you use affirmations in the right way so that you get maximum results?

1. Be aware of how affirmations work

2. Know how to create them

3. Experience them in the deeper levels of your sub-conscious mind

4. Use them for certain time periods and at powerful times

1. AFFIRMATIONS ARE REALLY CONTROLLED THOUGHTS

Thoughts are instructions sent to your subconscious mind. Thoughts repeated regularly become beliefs. After a while you start to believe what you repeatedly think. And, when your beliefs change,

your world changes.

Thoughts create reality. Thoughts are forms of energy. Everything on the physical plane has a spiritual counterpart.

Visible forms of energy, such as money, your clothes, and the car that you drive, once were invisible. They were once thoughts that coalesced into form and density until they materialized on this

physical plane. Everything that exists on the material plane, once existed in the world of thought, in a realm that is infinite and that is not bound by time or space

Thoughts are your hidden allies that you can use to get things to happen.

2. HOW TO CREATE AFFIRMATIONS

Before thoughts can transform into visible forms of energy, they need to be energized in a certain way.

Below are examples of weak affirmations vs. powerful, energized affirmations. See the notes below to understand why they are weak vs. powerful.

Weak Affirmations

A) “I pray that I can get rid of my debt soon”

C) “I will meet the love of my life one day when I least expect it”

Powerful Affirmations

B) “I am thankful for creating huge financial success right now

in an easy and enjoyable manner.”

D) “I know exactly what to do to realize a joyful relationship

with my dream partner and I am thankful for being guided every day.”

Affirmation A — is too vague and is likely to produce vague results at best. Even worse, this affirmation focuses on a negative thing— “debt” and by focusing on debt, you’re likely to actually create more debt in your life. Train yourself to focus your attention on what you want and to avoid thinking about what you

don’t want. Put your energy into happy thoughts.

Affirmation C — is vague and focuses on the future. With this type of affirmation, you are likely to delay producing the relationship you desire since you are essentially telling the universe to give it to you in the future (“I will”) rather than now. You could be waiting a long time.

Affirmation B and D — use the powerful “I am” decree and these words put you in the present (“I am now”) rather than the past or future. When using “I am”, only use positive thoughts; negatives

are best placed in the past. Lastly, these goals are detailed and as such the universe knows clearly what to deliver to you.

3. ENERGIZE YOUR AFFIRMATIONS

Focus on your affirmations throughout the day, especially when you’re in a meditative-type state such as theta.

When your mind quiets down, and you access deeper levels of consciousness your thoughts are more energized and more powerful. When you are in a deep state, such as theta, your sub-conscious mind

is more receptive to commands. It’s especially important that you focus only on want you want and avoid all thoughts about what you do not want. Be keenly aware of your thoughts and only hold those

thoughts that you want to materialize.

Get into the spirit of what you desire. Feel it as if what you desire has already happened. Then, let it go.

Relax and trust that your goal is now in the process of being materialized. Many people have difficulty relaxing because they are filled with doubts. Be aware that by associating heavy emotions,

such as tension and doubt, with your goals, you are making it difficult to materialize your goals.

Achieve your goals faster than you thought possible when you relax and energize your ideas during states of theta.

4. BE AWARE OF THE POWER OF NUMBERS AND POWER TIMES

Don’t allow yourself to be discouraged if nothing seems to happen when you practice affirmations. Reserve judgment. Keep at it. It takes 21 days to break a habit. It takes 40 days to make a new habit

and 90 days to lock it in. From a shamanic perspective, the most powerful times to focus on

your goals and affirmations are at sunrise and sunset.

Humans are plugged into the natural world. We don’t function separately from it. We are deeply connected with it. As such, the earth and the natural rhythms affect us. For example, when the sun goes down, we naturally get sleepy.

At dawn and dusk, our brain waves (rhythms) are closer to theta. Theta corresponds to the world of spirit. And, when we are closer to spirit, we have a stronger effect on the material plane.

Thoughts are invisible forms of energy that live in the world of spirit. When they are energized enough, they materialize on the physical plane.

That doesn’t mean that you only focus on your affirmations during those two times of the day. It means that you take advantage of those times to give your affirmations extra power.

You need to say and feel your affirmations, as explained above, regularly throughout the day.

If you say an affirmation just once or twice a day but for the rest of the day fill your mind with negative thoughts, you’ll eliminate the power of your affirmations.

If you want to get a new job and you say a positive affirmation about finding a new job, but then follow it up with a series of negative thoughts such as “There are no good jobs.” or “Nobody’s hiring during this bad economy…” That kind of attitude will lead to negative results, like not finding a job or finding a job that

you don’t like.

Yes, you can absolutely get affirmations to work if you create the right affirmations, apply them correctly and use techniques to energize them.

A powerful way to energize your affirmations and goals, is to access the deeper levels of your mind. I highly recommend going into theta to energize your affirmations.

You have unlimited powers. You are a remarkable human being.

Create the right affirmations, and direct the power of your subconscious mind to help you create the life you want.

Funny Facts About Women – Interesting Tidbits About Women Every Man Should Be Aware Of

Funny Facts About Women – Interesting Tidbits About Women Every Man Should Be Aware Of

There are quite a number of funny facts about women that you might want to know. For years, men have been baffled by women. The saying “Women are from Venus and men are from Mars” seems to hold true most of the time. There is nothing bad about this, of course. Most of the time, it’s romantic. Sometimes, it can even be funny.

Talking about the funny facts about women isn’t meant to poke fun at the female species (because men have funny facts about them, too!). This article is only a means to understand what women are all about.

Funny Fact About Women # 1: This, That or Both.

Many women seem to change their minds easily. I have a lot of female friends and this is generally true for them. Sometimes, they’ll say that they’re up for some Chinese food before taking it back and vouching for burgers and fries instead.

I don’t necessarily believe this to be a trait that suggests they can’t make up their minds. Just that they are willing to explore and try out different things. Women are quite flexible when it comes to making decisions and I believe that this helps them deal with stressful situations.

Funny Fact About Women # 2: Nothing is Wrong.

Many women won’t tell you outright that something is wrong. This sort of thing has happened to me and to so many guys all over the world.

You sense something is bothering your girlfriend but when you ask, she mumbles that nothing is wrong. And yet you get the cold shoulder anyway.

Most experienced guys know that this means something is definitely wrong and that they’re (the men) the ones responsible for it. Girls are tough. They won’t let you know what has upset them. You have to be the one to find out and atone for it yourself!

Funny Fact About Women # 3: Mistress of Trick Questions.

Many women are also quite fond of asking trick questions-although they might not necessarily realize what they are doing.

If you have a girlfriend, you must have experienced the “Does this make me look fat” question or something similar to it. The thing is, however you answer this question, you lose.

AUCTIONS

BASIC TIPS FOR BUYING OR SELLING PROPERTY AT AUCTION

Auctions are one of many methods used to buy and sell property. It is also the worst method, especially if you are the seller. Ask yourself the question, “who really wins at an auction, the buyer, the seller or the agent? Once you have done your research you will see it is almost always the real estate agent.

SELLING AT AUCTION

Should you sell your property using the auction method? No, because you very rarely

receive the price you were hoping for or the price the agent has promised you. If you decide to sell at auction you will be asked ‘what is your reserve price?’ Your reserve price is the lowest amount you would be prepared to take for the sale of your property. Now why would you want your lowest price out there when you are trying to get the highest price possible?

There is also the possibility that your property may be ‘passed in’. This means your property did not meet the reserve you set, therefore did not sell. If this is the case, how much has it cost you to not sell your house? The cost of advertising your property and auctioneers fees can run into thousands. Do not pay your agent any money until your house is sold and you walk away feeling satisfied your agent has done the best for you.

BUYING AT AUCTION

All sellers are over-quoted by the agent and all buyers are under-quoted by the agent. Because of this, the buyer could also be “out of pocket’ with nothing to show for it. The property has been sold for more than the agent told you it could possibly get and you have now wasted your money spent on advice and building inspections. If possible try to converse with the owners prior to auction and compare quotes given to you both by the agent

A common practice at property auctions is the Dummy Bidder. The dummy bidder is placed amongst the crowd and bids like a genuine buyer. This is to drive up the price of the property. Could you imagine bidding against a dummy bidder only to find out you won the purchase but it cost you thirty thousand dollars more than you could actually have paid.

ESSENTIAL TIPS

There are many tips advising you against buying and selling at Auction. For instance, there is the possibility the auction could only attract spectators and not genuine buyers, the closer the auction gets the agent will start conditioning you to accept a lower price than you wanted and you will also be told how many houses they have successfully sold by auction, when in reality these houses would have sold anyway even if not at auction.

Always investigate other methods of buying and selling your property before deciding on the auction method. Whether you are a buyer or a seller it is your financial future and security at stake here. By not doing your research you could lose thousand of dollars and be caused a lot of stress and heartache. Its YOUR hard earned money so make it work for you.

The “Truths” Top Criminal Law Attorneys Wish More People Were Aware Of

The “Truths” Top Criminal Law Attorneys Wish More People Were Aware Of

1.) Do not retain a criminal law attorney or DUI defense lawyer based upon the attorney’s office location. For many hardworking people, it is simply easier to go to a local criminal law attorney blocks away to make legal decisions that could land you or a loved one in jail and/or affect one’s livelihood forever. While a general practice attorney is often acceptable for non specialty areas such as the drafting of wills, contacts, etc., criminal and drunk driving defense has become a specialized field requiring unique training and attention. For example, most police departments have officers who are trained to do nothing other than pursue drunk driving arrests or drug crimes. As a result, it is often critical that your attorney be one that has devoted himself or herself exclusively to the practice of criminal law or DUI defense with more training in the field than the officer who has arrested you. In an age where most all top criminal or DUI attorneys are accessible for free phone or computer consultations, there is simply no reason not to consult with as many capable criminal defense law attorneys as possible before making the all important decision of who will defend you in a criminal court of law.

2.) Be wary of a fee arrangement that requires you to pay a criminal law attorney or drunk driving attorney base upon an hourly rate. It is often the practice of top criminal attorneys to have a client pay an initial retainer fee for their criminal defense, followed by a detailed fee for services performed beyond the initial retainer fee, or down payment. While not a problem limited to criminal law attorneys or DUI lawyers, a professional paid by the hour has a financial interest in prolonging services for their financial benefit. Within the context of a criminal prosecution, this financial arrangement can too often prove to be a lose situation for an uniformed client. This is so because not only is a client faced with the prospect of limitless and often frivolous professional fees, but also the potential of creating unnecessary conflict between defense counsel and a prosecutor who will often attribute delays in settlement to a client who is punished for the needless actions of a criminal arrest attorney with financial thoughts on his mind not always consistent with an effective criminal defense.

3.) Never speak to law enforcement without a criminal law attorney and be especially proactive in retaining a criminal law or DUI defense lawyer at your earliest opportunity

One who has been arrested for a felony or misdemeanor crime or accused of a criminal offense must always be aware that an arresting officer or detective is not your friend. No matter the kindness and sympathy one in law enforcement may extend to you, the fact that you are a professional, veteran of the armed forces or contributor to the sheriff’s department is not going to legally aid you in providing a legal defense. Only a rookie or inexperienced detective or police officer will yell and scream at one being investigated for a crime. Rather, an effective law enforcement officer is usually trained in the art of gaining a suspect’s trust and in turn the potential for an incriminating statement without the assistance of a capable criminal defense law attorney to protect you. Do not let the truth get in the way of reality. It is an officer’s job to thoroughly scrutinize a statement given in good faith for any possible discrepancies in an effort to incriminate one subjected to a criminal investigation. Once that statement, no matter how innocently intended or misinterpreted has been made, the job of your criminal law attorney has been made infinitely more difficult. If you or a loved one is the target of a criminal investigation and have not given a statement without the presence of your criminal attorney, consider yourself fortunate. You have the benefit of securing the services of a top criminal defense lawyer prior to charging decisions and settlement options being made within a prosecutor’s office.

Positive Affirmations, how do they work? What changes can I expect?

Affirmations are one of the tools you can use to radically change your life. There is nothing new age, mystic, trendy or fashionable about them. Affirmation is part of an ancient ‘ Secret’, re-discovered and brought back to the limelight by TV. film and press, transforming with it several people into very wealthy gurus.

Affirmations have been around since man found the use of language and there is no secret ritual to use them.

You can basically have anything you want! This tool, if used correctly, will help you change, grow, and heal yourself.

I want to introduce you to the basics of positive affirmation and positive thinking. Later on you may want to surf the web and find out more about this fascinating subject.

When you start the affirmations, give yourself at least a thirty day tryout period. Depending on the seriousness of the problem you may need more time and more affirmations to achieve your goals. Talk to your family and friends about your resolution to change and ask them for their support. If it is a radical change you are envisioning a life-coach will be very useful suggesting the best approach to use and to keep you motivated. This is a big step. Opening up to relatives and friends show your commitment to change and solidify your intentions.

Don’t get discouraged, impatient or put off if nothing happens in a week or two. Just remember that you didn’t become this way overnight.

Affirmations can and will transform your life patterns and perception.

Affirmations support your positive thinking and together they form a very powerful and effective tool. They function as ‘key words’ of positive messages ‘dictated’ directly to the self. You consciously connect and direct your positive thinking to areas of your life that you want to change or heal. It works as a reminder to the self, keeping positive messages at the forefront of consciousness.

The benefits of affirmations are medically well established and really work.

On the other hand negative thoughts are just as powerful. So be aware of your negative thoughts as they are in essence self-destructive ‘key words:’ psychological mechanisms that make your life rotten.

First,  let’s check how aware you are of your thoughts.

Do you regularly have more positive or more negative thoughts running through you mind?

Only you can honestly answer that. So get ready.

If your subconscious is throwing out lots of negative thoughts then you must do some ‘brain-cleaning’ before moving into the desired new positive affirmation mode.

This may be very familiar to you, as your mind swirls with thoughts like: “I don’t like this, I like that, I feel great,  I hate him/her, I am afraid of, I don’t want them to see me like this, I am not sure about that, I feel rotten”.

Your mind incessantly interprets your experiences as an internal dialogue. These thoughts are generated on a deep level by your beliefs which were formed and accumulated from the time you were born.

We can’t control most exterior events of our lives but we do control how we interpret and react to them.

We create our own reality.

When we change our interpretation a change takes place in our reality.

So become aware of your thoughts. If you change your thinking, big changes will happen in your life.

Take a minute to think about why you are reacting to something or someone.

Get in touch with yourself. Accept the fact that these thoughts may have helped you in the past but they are out of place now that you have chosen to accept only positive thoughts and positive living.

While doing the new affirmations your mind will let go of the negative messages even if you are not aware if it.

Watch out also for resistance within yourself. With certain affirmations you may question, “What in the heck” – “are you kidding?”

It is ok, it is an old habit that is about to be changed. You grew up and had these thoughts for almost all of your life. Now it is time to form a new habit and you need lots of practice.

Let’s get started.

What would you like your life to be?

Think about it and write it down.

Fulfillment with your job, a happy family, better health, financial security?

Don’t hold back, go for it.

For the beginners the easiest way is to choose and write down two or three things you want changed.

For example, if you feel unloved and financially strapped, one of your affirmations could be: ” I am now ready to receive more love and wealth” and you may add  ”from the vast supply of the universe”.

If you also wrote down ‘low self-esteem’  the affirmation could be: “I am an awesome man/woman and I feel good about myself”.

Be creative, upfront and fearless. You are making a statement to yourself of your intentions.

Here are a few simple guidelines:

1- Present tense. Start all your affirmations in the present tense and have them already accomplished. You are telling your conscious mind that the affirmative action is taking place NOW and it is final. I AM HAPPY,  I CHOOSE JOY,  I HAVE CONFIDENCE. It is stronger and much more powerful than, I will be happy, or I am becoming happy, and so on.

2- How to phrase your affirmations. You can copy from an extensive list you’ll find on the Internet, use the examples below or simply write it down in your own words. Do it as plainly or as poetically as you speak. ” I am energetic and full of enthusiasm. I am safe, I am a prosperous man/woman. I attract positive people, I release my anger.” Make copies of it and leave it around the house, car and your office desk. The more you are reminded of the positive affirmations the more your mind will accept the new concept you are bringing forth. You will create a new positive reality and the universal energy will do the rest to connect this good energy to other positive energies.

3- Positive means Positive. Your subconscious usually focuses on the verb and relates it to past experiences. If you have fears, phobias or whatever, be careful with your choice of words. If you are afraid and say I am not SCARED, it will register I AM SCARED. The NOT was assimilated and ignored by your mind. Say instead I AM COURAGEOUS or I AM FEARLESS. Don’t use affirmations that have a negative attachment. You can comfortably use I ACCEPT, I CHOOSE, I DESERVE, I AM.  I developed one affirmation to counteract the negative thought that eventually peeks through, so I suggest you add it to the batch,  ”I ACCEPT ONLY THE GOOD AND THE POSITIVE.”

Starting as you wake up, say the affirmations out loud or in your head five times. Repeat the same process three to four more times during the day, the last one just before going to bed.

I suggest you end the affirmation session with a thank you  note. Gratitude will reinforce and validate the affirmations. Thank God, Jesus, a Spirit, the Force, the Universe or whatever you believe and feel comfortable with.

Visualize your affirmations with feelings and emotion. See yourself exactly as you are stating.  It will add an extra psychological dimension and have a much deeper impact on your mind. Using this method of visualization early in the morning and at night will make your affirmations much more successful.

You can use affirmations to help build self-confidence, self-esteem, self-improvement and personal growth. It can also help conquer your fears and anger management. Affirmations have been successfully used to relieve anxiety and depression and are an excellent tool for weight control.

If you check the web under Positive Affirmations you’ll find a multitude of books and affirmations to help you.

Here are a few examples of affirmations by topics:
