As people begin to realize the importance and value of our thoughts in creating the life we desire (or the life we have, but would like to change), affirmations can be instrumental in re-training ourselves in how to think. Before we begin thinking, we start out a relatively clean slate.

As we pick up beliefs and ways of thinking throughout life we begin to think that who we think we are is who we actually are.  This is not the absolute truth.  In actuality, we are much more than we could ever imagine and the negative stuff we have picked up along the way is something we can part with, because it’s not our true essence.

The purpose of affirmations is to affirm the truth and desires about ourselves and our circumstances. What can happen as we begin to focus on what we want and actually verbalize those desires in the form of affirmations, is the stuff that gets in our way will let itself be known.  This is the stuff that life has caused us to believe is really us.

Are affirmations a way to circumvent reality?  Some people use them that way, but clearly intentional use will yield the truth every time: affirmations only affirm what is really inside.  It just needs some affirmation to be fully realized, inside and out.

When people view an affirmation as a band-aid to a problem, the problem they are referring to is the stuff that has stopped you from feeling that the affirmation is true, through and through. Affirmations are most useful when put into practice as a tool to help one get to know him or herself better through clarifying wants and determining unhelpful thoughts and patterns so they can be released.  That ensures the affirmation is healing the cause and not being used as a band-aid.

Your True Self knows you are totally lovable and loving, that you have every resource available to you (even if it is in a different form than you may expect), and that you can make your life into what you want it to be. However, your ego or inner critic, will tell you otherwise.

Practicing affirmations deserves your full attention.  It is of great value to bring affirmations into your life to invite the stuff blocking your way to come up and show you where you can let go and let your True Self shine through. All you need to do is make a simple commitment to yourself: I will be open to be with what is coming up.

You do not always need to know exactly what the issue is that is presenting itself, or the root cause. If it does show itself to you, that is fine. If not, the feeling can still be tended to.

When uncomfortable feelings or thought patterns rise to the surface, much like bubbles coming up from an underwater spring, allow yourself to be with them. Take a few deep breaths and refrain from giving them names (if they don’t have a script running already) or getting involved in the story that goes with them. Ask your feeling or thought what they are about if you desire. Know that acknowledging the uncomfortable feeling will help it dissolve. Do not push against it for that is what has kept it with you to this point.

If you find yourself resisting feeling negative emotion simply remember that it is okay to feel what you feel!  Dealing with painful or stressful emotions or thoughts can be well handled through first allowing yourself to feel them by deeply breathing and following your breath into your body while imagining it cleansing and honoring the emotion, and second, seeking out some techniques to assist if they persist. Working through emotions can be achieved through a coaching session as well.

To get started with affirmations, it is as easy as bringing to mind some statements that on some level you know to be true or you would like to feel the truth of such as: I love me. I am perfect, whole, and worth of goodness. I am financially free. Begin by saying and writing these statements to yourself at least 5 times per day, 10-20 will have a more profound effect. This is the power of changing your thoughts with deliberate action.

As you progress, remember the importance of allowing whatever is standing in your way to come up and dissolve. It may also be helpful to ask yourself questions about your affirmations such as

How would it be possible for me to be financially free?

Why do I love myself?

What about me is perfect and whole?

It is initially natural to question one’s self so use your mind to your advantage in this manner!

Affirmations are not a band-aid.  They are an affirmation of who you truly are and what you can truly do with your life when you learn to believe them.  To believe something you must think it over and over again.

Using affirmations is helpful along any journey to self-love and conscious creation of your life.  It is important to realize that creating affirmations with clear intention is a learned skill.  Start with affirmations that are just out of your belief, but you think may be true. For instance, if saying I love me to yourself feels funny, but sort of true you can stretch it to include other affirmatve statements like I love me and I am fun to be around or I am open to loving myself and I am learning to like myself.

To help yourself get out of your own way, be gentle with yourself as you change and grow and modify your affirmations as necessary.  If an affirmation does not feel good, change it!  Use affirmations daily and often for as long as you desire and know that many people use them for months to feel and notice a substantial change.  We create our thought patterns that are not helpful and use them for decades.  To re-train ourselves it takes some time as well.  Perseverance pays off!

When saying an affirmation to yourself get centered first, take a deep breath, and connect with the feeling of your affirmation, believing it to be true.  In combination with becoming aware of what stands in your way and a commitment to unite with your true self, affirmations are a great tool to discover the true you!

Positive daily affirmations can help you to reprogram your mind from the negative self talk that you have had for years. For this to work effectively, you need to repeat positive statements of a desirable outcome like a mantra on a daily basis a few times per day.

Positive daily affirmations help to redirect your values, formulate goals for success or simply help you to boost your self confidence. They can be used to improve areas such as wealth, success, health, relationships or self esteem.

Here are 10 tips to writing effective Positive Daily Affirmations

1. Develop Them Yourself. Self-developed affirmations are the most effective positive daily affirmations. If you couple them with clearly defined written goals and applied faith, their power is even stronger.

2. Feel Them. The emotional dimension of each affirmation should never be overlooked. When you can additionally “feel” your affirmation, its total impact increases tremendously. For instance, if your affirmation is “I am a successful public speaker”, then visualize how it will be like to be receiving a standing ovation from a hall full of people.

3. Make Them In the Present Tense. You should state your positive daily affirmations in the present tense, that is, use “I am…” rather than “I will be…” Saying things in the present tense will program your subconscious mind to believe that what you affirm is already a fact. In other words, you have no doubt in your mind that what you desire is a given and not just a wish that may or may not happen.

4. Make Affirmations Positive. Another important tip in formulating your affirmations is to write them in the positive state. A negative statement cannot work. For instance, you should say “I am rich” rather than “I am not poor”.

5. Make Positive Daily Affirmations Short And Clear. First, because your experience will create the conditions that allow affirmations to manifest, word the affirmations carefully to make them crystal-clear. State your real, innermost desires and articulate your most expansive sense of self. Affirmations based on a narrow self-concept deliver results that fall short, cause suffering, and further diminish the sense of self.

7. Increase Your Faith. Of course, the more faith you have in them, the more effective your affirmations will be. The desires and dreams that your mind can conceive bear seeds of possibility, and possibilities ultimately become realities.

8. Say Positive Daily Affirmations With Conviction. Some experts recommend saying positive daily affirmations silently. They say that silent affirmations are more effective than spoken statements, because they entail more intensity of concentration and resonate through your entire body instead of in your surroundings. Others recommend saying them out loud, because you can also use your facial expression or hand gestures for more conviction. For whatever it is, positive daily affirmations made in a half hearted manner are not going to be as effective as the ones that you make with deliberate intention.

9. Follow Up With Actions. Lastly, you will also need to put in some actions, so that you can lay the ground for their manifestation. For instance, affirming that you will win the lottery can only be possible when you buy a ticket.

10. Remind Yourself Daily. In a hurried lifestyle with 1001 things to do, you can find it hard to remember to repeating the positive daily affirmations. Hence, put them in a visible location, like on the wall or in front of the mirror or save them in a PowerPoint slide to be used as a screensaver.

Here are some examples to help illustrate the above 10 tips:

Positive Daily Affirmations For Self Confidence

1. I am sure of my ability to do what is necessary to improve my life.

2. I feel good about the way I do my job.

3. I love myself and accept myself for who I am.

Positive Daily Affirmations For Abundance

1. All the things I want and need come to me.

2. I am an abundant person.

3. I create abundance in all that I say and do.

Positive Daily Affirmations For Success

1. I am successful.

2. Everything I do turns into success.

3. I attract positive-minded people to me; I draw all things positive to myself.

There are two types of affirmations. Each type has two parts that make up the whole of it. Without acting upon this truth, our affirmation work becomes something other than effective. Let’s look at this. Affirmations are effective when they are repeated. Customarily, that repeating would look like us, finding a favorite affirmation, such as “My life now flows with money” and then repeating these words over and over, with the intention that more money manifests for us. Affirmations are associated with courses, classes, and conferences. They are used worldwide, and it is the practice of them that is effective. Yet whether we are aware of this or not, we are always practicing affirmations, twenty-four seven, either deliberately or by default. If we practice type one, the pre-programmed default type, then we get negative results. If we practice type two, through our deliberate practice, then we expect to get the results we expect to get from the particular affirmation we are practicing. We expect to have those results, even when at times we can’t figure out why our manifestations haven’t arrived yet. Here’s why!

Type one is an affirmation whose guidance for our energy is negative in nature. For instance, to say to ourselves, “I can’t do that” would be negative because its guidance leads us to not accomplishing what we set out to do. But it’s not only in the words that we are guided. We are also guided by how we feel when this affirmation comes up for us. We feel resigned, and it is that resignation, combined with the words that flow from that feeling called “I can’t” that makes this particular affirmation so effective. What it is affirming is that you are in that moment, creating the feeling of resignation, which then propels out the necessary words called “I can’t” which inform you of how you are feeling. Hence, this affirmation which affirms what you are creating, has two parts. One feels, and the other, thinks.

Because feelings come without words, this first part of any affirmation can be a subtle way that we trip ourselves up. If we don’t address this first part before we do any and all of our by choice affirmation work, then that work will not be effective. We will affirm, and then get frustrated over why what we told ourselves we wanted, just isn’t coming yet. Think about it. If feelings of resignation are the real source of “I can’t” then no matter what new words replace the old ones, that feeling still is there, and what you are doing is still feeling it, even though your words tell you otherwise! Now in doing so, you are caught up in trying to live a lie, that of telling yourself that you can, while feeling resignation, or that you cannot! How many times have you told yourself you are rich, when in truth you were not? How did this feel? Like you were lying to yourself? Well, you were! But take heart, there is an effective way to do our affirmation work that gets us through this very human dilemma. And it’s one that every single one of us, bar none, have to get through in order to be more and more effective with our affirmations.

How then, in the example provided, do we feel rich, when we are not? That’s easy, tell the truth! Truth aligns our energy, and lies disperse it. We want to do this because aligned energy all goes in the direction you desire it to go in, and dispersed energy just goes everywhere. The affirmed truth I had to tell myself about being rich, since it was my desire to become rich, wasn’t the lie that I already was rich. What I had to come up with was the truth, that “in every moment I am becoming richer and richer.” All the while knowing that my becoming was adding up to then being rich. In this way, if I found even a penny on the ground, this truth was affirmed. Because which part of a few million dollars is a penny not? Through this affirmation I was telling the truth now, and then teaching myself to tell the truth later. All aligned energy! My energy was the most effective as it was directed by my affirmation work, because it wasn’t being used to suppress feelings, or to fight a lie. All my energy was being used to “become richer and richer” in each moment.

What telling myself the truth did, was to have me feel good about myself and what I was doing, and that’s the important part of affirmation work. This is the first and most important part of the two parts of affirmations, that of having how you feel be aligned with the words you choose. In every case, there is some positive way you feel about what you desire to have, because you wouldn’t desire to have something if you didn’t feel good about it! For instance, with regard to relationships, you can say to yourself that you just “Love being in love” because you do! The fact that thinking about loving being in love feels good, will then attract that love to you. You don’t say “I am with my love” when you are not. That would be using your energy in misalignment. Alignment is the first part of feeling good about your affirming words, and then there are the words themselves, two parts, twice as effective.

In the case of positive affirmations, you have to find those words that make you feel good, because they are the truth. Because no matter what the words are, if you still feel the same as you always felt, resigned, or upset, or angry, then all the words in the world won’t shift your energy one bit. Angry feelings produce angry results, and angry money is always lost to those who manage to create it in this way. And people do. They create a lot of money through being motivated by either anger or fear, and then they promptly lose it. They lose it by either actually losing it, or by being so guided by anger that they never really enjoy what they have, and so are completely blind to their abundance. They feel poor, even though they are rich! And that feeling poor is a lie as well. I have worked with billionaires who were some of the poorest people in their minds that I have ever known. No amount of money will cure this kind of resignation, if the feelings behind your actions are not shifted. What shifts them? To begin to tell the truth, and then to continue to tell the truth.

Truth is, most of us desire to have more money. We like the freedom of choice that money gives to us. Or more love. We like the way being loved, and being in love feels. Or most of us desire more____________you fill in the blank! More seems to be our hard wired request, and it’s through affirmations that we feel we can have that more, in whatever form we desire our good to come in. We can have that more, and we can have it through the direction our energy is guided in by our affirmation work. But we can only do this if we pay attention to both parts of that work, the words and the feelings we are creating. Once we do that, then hold onto your hat, because the flow of good that comes our way will be so overwhelming, that there will be times when we have to deliberately slow it down just so that we can enjoy it as it comes. Now that’s affirmation work I can live with!

A Minute of Deliberate Attraction is Better Than None

A Minute of Deliberate Attraction is Better Than None

Before I explain why a minute of Deliberate Attraction is better than none, I’d like to begin by giving a definition of The Law of Attraction. Definition of the Law of Attraction: I attract to myself, whatever I give my focus, attention, or energy to; whether wanted or unwanted.

It is important to understand that The Law of Attraction operates in every moment. Right now, in this very moment, each of us is offering a vibration and The Law of Attraction is matching that vibration and giving us more of it; whether or not we are offering that vibration deliberately or non-deliberately. As the definition says, whether wanted or unwanted, we attract more of whatever vibration we offer in every moment. When it comes to our vibration, whether or not they are deliberately offered, or non-deliberately offered, and whether or not our vibration attracts to us something we want or don’t want, The Law of Attraction is still paying attention and operating in exactly the same way—in EVERY moment.

Ideally, we will want to become more deliberate offer-ers about the vibrations we offer. When we become deliberate about what we give our focus, attention, and energy to, we are practicing Deliberate Attraction! Here is an easy 4-stage cycle to help you understand why Deliberate Attraction is an important skill to practice.

Stage #1: You observe what you are attracting in any moment of your life.

Stage #2: While observing what you are attracting, you are offering a corresponding vibration.

Stage #3: Whether offered deliberately or non-deliberately, in every moment, The Law of Attraction is checking in with your vibration.

Stage #4: The Law of Attraction then gives you more of whatever you are offering vibrationally.

This 4-stage cycle keeps repeating itself over, and over and over again. This is how you manifest more of whatever you give your focus, attention, or energy to.

Notice the word ‘attention’ in our definition of The Law of Attraction. The more Deliberate Attention you give to something you desire, the more quickly it will manifest in your life. Imagine spending one minute deliberately placing your focus, attention, and energy on the way you want something to be in your life. You are filling that minute with deliberately offered vibrations. Your vibrations are summoning the energy of The Law of Attraction to start unfolding whatever you just gave your attention to.

Now that you understand, more clearly, the significance of being a deliberate offer-er of your vibration, isn’t one minute of deliberate attraction better than none? Remember, when you give attention to what you Do want, you are including it in your current vibration. And, when you give attention to what you DON’T want, you are including it in your current vibration. The Law of Attraction doesn’t make any distinctions between the two.

In closing, in every moment, including this moment RIGHT NOW, RIGHT NOW, RIGHT NOW, you are including both what you want and don’t want in your vibration. Practice becoming more deliberate in your vibration and you will manifest your desires more quickly. That’s what Deliberate Attraction is all about.

Creating powerful affirmations is a technique that is coveted, as once you master this process–you can literally manifest what you strongly desire fast, easily and with a whole lot of fun! The quality of your life improves dramatically–almost overnight! Creating powerful affirmations is technique that is interwoven with the Deliberate Creation process and it is recommended when you are describing and writing your life goals.

How to create powerful affirmations is a question many have asked, few have mastered.

Affirmations are deliberately and concisely constructed statements which, when properly understood, accepted and practiced can transform your health and your future. Often times, these affirmations are silent, unspoken, but rather thoughts generated from our minds. Some people would call them prayers. Positive affirmations are those that are focused on positive things, deliberate thoughts that bring one feelings of love, passion, enlightenment, faith and hope. To read about the 10 steps on how to create powerful affirmations keep reading below.

1)The first step in how to create powerful affirmations is belief–believing what you want is already hear, and that it is yours–now! Undeniable.

Affirmations are nothing more than a string of words, however, which will not make a difference unless you know how to use them for maximum effectiveness. When you give you positive affirmations power and energy, they take off, go out into the universe and attract back to you all the health that you desire. You must give them power and energy in order to get your results. You must believe them to be true.

2) One of the most important techniques in how to create powerful affirmations is repetition!

3) When you want to master the process of how to create powerful affirmations make sure you fill your affirmative thoughts with positive emotions.

4) Mastery of the process of how to create powerful affirmations usually requires that we examine and change your current thought paradigms. This can be a painful process for some, a step in self discovery for others. But replacing old, disruptive thought patterns and belief systems is critical to evolving and changing life circumstances.

5) In order to master the process of how to create powerful affirmations you should always attach gratitude to your message. It is suggested that you begin each positive affirmation as “Yes! I am so happy and grateful now that…” For example, “Yes! I am so happy and grateful now that I can run five miles three times a week.”

6) In the process of how to create powerful affirmations remember to always affirm big!!! If your goals do not scare you just a little bit, than you have not set the bar high enough…make big goals, dream big dreams and believe it is all for you!

7) In this next step in the 10 step process of how to create powerful affirmations you want to map out your goals. Make a plan. Have you ever tried to go on a road trip or vacation without a plan? No. This is no different, make a plan, plot out your course. It is much easier to attain a goal if you have it visualized and you can plot your progess and see if you get off course.

8)Want to manifest quickly? The next step in how to create powerful affirmations is to visualize it. Practice creative visualization techniques; this helps you to see your goals and desires clearly in your mind. This process is one of the most powerful techniques you can use to manifest quickly. This process of creative visualization is very effective, as it will activate brain cells that will now remember this mental image that you are holding, and therefore as the universal conscious or Spirit thought moves through you, it will create that image that you are seeing in your mind.

9) The 9th step in how to create powerful affirmations is to expect your affirmations to come true! One of my favorite quotes about creating success is by Napoleon Hill; he states, “No one is ready to receive a thing, until they believe that they can acquire it.” Wow, does that not say it all? If you do not believe that you can have something and even more, expect it!!! then you will never succeed. You must believe and expect it, period. If you do not yet truly expect it, then you will not be able to attract what you need in order to bring it into form.

10) Ultimately, nothing is going to happen in the how to create powerful affirmations process until you TAKE ACTION!

Affirmations form the basis of our perceptions. They are defined as the things we state to be true. But notice how there’s nothing in this definition which claims that an affirmation must, in reality, be true.

Affirmations are merely declarations of truth, but these declarations can be any degree of true or false. Nothing shows up in your life experience which you have not invited into it by affirming it. And you affirm any statement, whether based on an essential truth or an essential lie, into your life experience which you accept as true and real regardless of whether or not it is actually true and real. Acceptance is a prerequisite to demonstration. What you accept you manifest. The legitimacy of the affirmative statement itself is irrelevant; and (while we are on the subject of irrelevance) so are the words. I know this may sound counterintuitive but just as affirmations have nothing whatsoever to do with Reality, affirmations are not really about words. Words are merely symbolic of something deeper. It’s the feeling evoked by the words used in an affirmation which reveal what’s really being asserted.

A statement may on its face seem positive, even though it may actually be interpreted negatively by the one stating it. For example, I am beautiful seems like a positive enough statement. But what if in stating I am beautiful you believe your beauty to be based solely on your looks and so you become obsessed with keeping up physical appearances. I am beautiful can be interpreted in any number of ways, just as any statement can. That’s why it’s not the words of an affirmation that matter, but the way the words are understood by the person stating them. The real story of an affirmation is revealed through your emotions. For an affirmation to be constructive, the emotions inspired by the affirmation must be positive. And even more than that (as previously stated) in order for an affirmation to actually be demonstrated in your physical experience, you have to accept whatever idea you are affirming in your thoughts to be absolutely credible and true; because any idea which you deem to be incredible at the point of contemplation has no chance of developing beyond a mere mental musing. You can go around making all the declarations you want, this is not what brings thoughts into fruition. It is your belief in your thoughts which create your reality. This is the basic lesson of the law of attraction. “All things whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive.” – Matthew 21:22. Only what you accept as true (whether it is really true or not) can become a part of your actual experience.

Acceptance (as it is used here) means to let be; to receive just as it is offered; to not merely be tolerant of whatever is before you, but to be completely objective and impartial about it. Acceptance means to receive without conditions. Until you can truly say about something or someone, “no matter what, I receive you just as you are,” then you are not truly accepting of whatever or whomever that something or someone is. The problem many of us have is that we too often choose to receive (just as it is) affirmations which are empty and unsatisfying to us. We are too often accepting of perceptions which make us feel bad, and are way too quick to be dismissive of perceptions which make us feel good. We deem the good feeling perceptions to be incredible and the bad feeling perceptions to be the way reality is. And because we have accepted that which we do not want and doubted that which we do, what we affirm into our life experience is that which we do not want even as we deny that which we do want from occurring. Is it really any wonder then why we so often feel frustrated and dissatisfied with life?

You must be diligent about only affirming those perceptions which will bring about the most joy in your life experience. How do you know which affirmations will accomplish this best? Don’t focus so much on the words you are reciting in an affirmation, but the feeling you get when you recite them. Always remember, it is your emotions which reveal the real story of an affirmation. If you are entertaining a perception which feels good to you in imagination, this is a perception which will feel good to you in actual practice (just as the contrary is also true). And the only thing you need to do to actually demonstrate that perception is to give yourself over to it. Accept it. That’s it! It doesn’t matter how often you repeat an affirmation, repetition will not lead to fruition. Only acceptance can do this. You could declare a thing one time, and as long as you then accept the declaration you just made it will instantly be demonstrated. The only power inherent in repeating an affirmation is the power of persuasion. The only reason an affirmation ever needs to be repeated is because you are still trying to convince yourself to let go of the doubt which is hindering your ability to demonstrate it.

The real scarcely recognized secret? We are different expressions of the same identity. And there is unlimited greatness within each and every one of the infinite expressions of The One. The deliberate use of affirmations is merely one tool we may use in order to realize this Truth. The point of it all is to get you to first imagine and then accept something greater, something more wonderful than what you have up to this moment allowed of yourself until finally you are able to appreciate the boundless magnificence of All.

You must not be afraid to feel joy – know that you are deserving of it. You must not be suspicious of what, at the point of contemplation, feels good (or rather too good to be true). Know that the very basis of Reality is All good. So go ahead… Affirm your way to this realization.
