“One comes to believe whatever one repeats to oneself sufficiently often, whether the statement be true or false. It comes to be dominating thought in one’s mind.”

– Robert Collier

Repetition of words creates repetition of thoughts.

Repetition of thoughts creates reality.

By intentionally choosing the words that wallpaper your mind, you change the tone of the room in which you live and you change the life you are living.

******* The Power of Words *******

We typically dilute our words by drawing them from vague and conflicted states of mind. We present a muddy impression on the creative medium in which we live and our reality mirrors our dull efforts. This is so easy to remedy that you may actually shock yourself with your radical improvement in results as you become more intentional with your affirmations.

Words are not just signposts that point to meaning. When we use them to simply report what we observe it’s like using a racecar to deliver newspapers.

Words are powerful instruments of manifestation. When given an open road they will perform extraordinary feats.

******* Eliminate These Words *******

We use certain words habitually and somewhat unconsciously. By eliminating them from your affirmations, you will automatically begin implementing 2 of the 3 ways to supercharge your affirmations, without even yet knowing what these 3 ways are.

Here are the words to eliminate:

no, not, don’t, doesn’t, never, won’t, can’t, stop, quit, will, am going to, should, want to, plan to, hope to.

Every time you create an affirmation, check for these words. If you find them, reword your affirmation without them.

******* 3 Superchargers for Your Affirmations *******

Supercharger #1

==>Always Affirm in the Present Tense

When you are creating an affirmation, you are like an artist creating a painting. Whatever you affirm with your paintbrush becomes the reality on the canvas. As an affirmation artist, you do not have colors on your palette. Your words are your paint. You are pulling potential realities from the formless realm into the manifest realm through the narrow birth canal of your carefully chosen words.

Choose your words in the present tense so that the reality you choose becomes experienced now. Now is the only time that has the mystical power to pour forth a manifestation. If you word your affirmations in the future by saying, “I will…,” you keep that carrot dangling in the fictitious future and you pull the plug on the power of your affirmations. A surefire way to begin an affirmation is with the sacred words, “I am…”

Supercharger #2

==> Always Affirm in the Positive

You are bothering to create an affirmation because you are living something unwanted and you desire a change. It is only natural that you would understand your desire as not wanting what you’ve got. But if you point your affirmation toward getting rid of a habit or condition, if you say what you will not do, or if you affirm that something will go away, you are actually chaining yourself to it.

It simply does not work.

In fact you’d be better off not to affirm at all because this sort of negative affirmation is like affirming the opposite of what you want. Remember, to affirm means to make firm. It is the process of bringing things into form. Remember also that the universe does not hear the word “no.” So whatever you are talking about, whether you are affirming or denying it, you are in effect, affirming it.

Instead of saying, “I will quit smoking,” which is both in the future and negative, say something like:

All my actions are healthy and intentional. I choose my actions and I enjoy all my choices. I am in charge of my actions. I have healthy life affirming habits. I love being in charge of my life.

Supercharger #3

==> Feel as if it’s Already True

Once you have a well-chosen phrase to affirm, one that is positive, in the present tense, and feels good when you consider it, enter into its world. Step into the affirmation as if it were already your reality. When you say it, imagine that it is already true. Feel how you would feel if it were already manifest. Steps 1 and 2 build a powerful rocket. Step 3 lights the fuse and sends it off with a blast.

Affirmations can literally change your life. They are free. Everyone has equal access to them, and they work day and night, always ready and willing to bring your good to you. Use these 3 superchargers every time you do an affirmation process and watch your life transform before our eyes.

Words of affirmation are so prevalent, important, and powerful but yet subtle, so subtle that we don’t even notice it being the underlining governor in our minds and in our life’s experiences. Words of affirmation have conditioned us in ways that most people have not even considered in their adult years.

For instance, we have been conditioned from school, through things like mathematics, to create problems for ourselves over and over again. Through all of the different equations we had to find to solve all of the many problem-solving questions that math teachers gave their students, and still are giving them today… we have been conditioned to create problems for ourselves. This can be turned into good if it forces us to find solutions to where our attention and focus are more steered toward solutions but unfortunately with the mental overwhelming of mind activity, and lack of concentration, we focus more on the problems and create more problems for ourselves.

But on a subconscious level we have seen the words “Problem Solving” so much in our youth that we have hardwired our brains to search out and notice problems just to solve them for the chemical rush of being right, which can put us in a state to refining our skills in that area. But most schools, at the same time of flooding students with problems to solve, have numerous intellectual commitments, assignments, test, exams, essay papers and many other things that keep the mind at a constant turbulent multi tasking state.

This unfortunately makes it harder for kids to realize and expand their talents and concentration skills and interest because they are mentally tired from all of the requirements of problem solving. Whenever things seem to be going right, the minds is conditioned to seek out a problem that is hidden and the world respond and bring us situations to deal with that we interpret as problems to solve.

Not a lot of attention was put into concentration, contemplation, mental rehearsal and imagination. More of the attention was on problem solving and measuring apartness and separation and calculating reactions and implementing solutions. This can be effective if used rightly but we fail to ascend from the problematic limited way of thinking to the expressions of creativity, abundance and infinite possibilities ways of thinking.

This same mentality has creeped into the minds of most adults and the word job is the new school for problem solving mechanisms using some form of “work”. We have forgotten unconditional love and hardwired our families to be computers to survive in this tough financial problem solving society.

The love has been striped out of families for survival because on an unconscious level we have prepared and organized our brains to seek out problems to solve without us even knowing it which cripples the idea of enhancing and refining our skill to strategies and master challenges in a subconscious and automatic implicit way for a desired outcome using concentration and pure powerful thinking.

We seem to have been stuck in a problem-seeking mode and when we get overwhelmed we go on vacation with the family to catch up on expressing love and life. Our spirit guide knows that it needs love to continue life’s full expression rather our minds allow it or not. This is what creates the imbalance in our wholeness because our intent in mind is different than our intent in heart.

We have been programmed to survive and as parents we sometimes see our kids as motivation to survive which works for a while but you naturally need to Love, Love and Love first. Seek the way of the creator first and your needs will be meet. But we have been delivered from youth, certain problematic words of affirmation in our DNA unconsciously, that has implicitly become our automatic behaviors and ways of thinking.

Love and life has become secondary to surviving. What a tiresome way of living life. Oh lets survive by getting a job, paying bills and keeping a roof over our heads, food on the table and clothes on our backs and then when we have time we will pay attention to one another.

I am explaining the high maintenance family who is conditioned to work, work and work to live and find time to play in between some how. They are prime examples of the conditioning of creating problems over and over again to have to deal with when our minds cannot consciously manage all of the problems we have created with the constant exposure to problematic words of affirmation.

The people who master these problem-solving techniques become our leaders in government, education, media and mainstream. They set the tone and reinforce a system that creates a world of chaos and limitations because all the problems are based on limitation, apartness, labels and division and we have identified our selves and who we think we are with our ability to solve problems.

This is why the entrepreneur world is so big because there are so many problems and an entrepreneur is no more than some one who solves problems and address needs for people for a profit. Helping the needy has become life’s purpose because the parasite exists in the minds of the poverties but Christ consciousness is the keys to full fill this gap. There are many needs in this world because the adversary, through mind, has kept the knowledge away from us of how to create abundance instead of limitations.

From the jump early school systems painted the picture of education that they wanted us to see so that we will live a life of trading time in for ends meet. They know time is limited, which is a problem for us, if that is what you have to rely on to survive. They have mentally equipped us to be in a rat race of specific problems that we had no part in creating. We are at the bottom of the employee food chain acting out as parts of the equation that the successful problem solver has put in place and created a business out of.

This may seem all to coincidental or distant for a lot of people but I assure you if you look deeper you will see that the underlining words of affirmation that has been hardwired in our intellect corresponds equally to

what we believe and what we manifest in our present reality.

The very few wealthy people in the world have surpassed this limited way of thinking and they see that there are no limitation problems in the now. They see what most people label as problems as challenges that they have learned to graciously overcome. They have implanted into their memory program a new set of words of affirmation. Affirmations are so effective in our lives rather we are affirming abundance or limitation. Whatever you organize your brain to tell you is what it will produce.

Most people do not realize that words of affirmation works on an unconscious level in a very big way. Our unconscious thoughts produce measurable changes in our physiology but most people are not aware of the unconscious thinking in their heads. If you are worrying about some future moment in the back of your head and you can’t consciously remember exactly what it is your worrying about at that moment, you are affirming some form of words that have been planted in your subconscious.

We have been conditioned by time to treat the present moment as a problem or an obstacle that needs to be over come. Some how we have gotten stuck in the “oh no its another problem” mode. The idea of no problems but only challenges and solutions starts to make your brain works differently but that different feeling is the unknown. The familiar is so seductive because we can relate to what a problem feels like.

PEACE AFFIRMATIONS

We have not hardwired our brain to experience a reflection of paradise with ultimate peace and only love because of the parasite in our mind that keeps the past alive. Every time we think there is no problems, the body and mind conditioned past finds a problem. Christ tried to present us another way of living when he implied to his followers that they should live like nature. He said look at the lilies and the birds. See how they grow with no stress or toil. You can live like that too.

The only way we can live like that is through the thoughts we choose to focus on in this moment. In order to live like the lily your thoughts has to be natural and clear like the growth of the lily. We must allow life to be freely with an attitude of peace and wholeness no matter what the present circumstance. This action creates a reaction of peace in the future.

The karma for a natural flower is natural beauty because it’s action and reaction is natural with no distress and rooted in love. It takes in just enough solar energy and water and the roots grow and create beauty on the outside through the creators love. The only thing that gets in the way of us living our lives so peacefully like the Lilly and the bird is fear in the human mind. We have lost control of it do to the conditioning of problem solving words of affirmation.

We have to gain control of our subconscious memory system and alter our attention to abundant words of affirmation. We have been condition by school for most of our early years so more than likely you have to unlearn some things you’ve been taught. Whatever words of affirmation you have plant in your mental garden, will be the same words that grows in your physical world as manifestation of things and reality and now is the time to pluck up roots and plant new seeds.

Then the new seeds of abundance have to become deeply rooted and implicit so that it can be automatic. Peace and love becomes second nature and all other needs are added as a result of producing compassion now.

Words of Affirmations effect life in many different areas

· Affirmations for healing

· Affirmations for abundance

· Affirmations for wealth

· Self Confidence Affirmations

· Positive Thinking Affirmations

· Affirmations of Happiness

· Affirmations for Money

· Affirmations for Relationships

· Audio Affirmation

Pluck up the negative words of affirmations that creeped in unconsciously through

· Affirmations of Problems

· Affirmations of Limitation

· Affirmations of Disease

· Affirmations of Anger

· Affirmations of Fighting

· Affirmations of Surviving

· Affirmations of Fear

· Affirmations of Victim

These words of affirmations come in through many ways- from what we read, what we see on televisions and the news, what we learned in school, what we experience at work, what we hear on radio, what we perceive from others, what we see in hospitals, what we experience through drama and chaotic episodes, what we hear in church and what we learn from surviving life situations.

Our conscious mind is like a compass and it guides our subconscious by the words of affirmations we hold in our mind and make more real than anything else. Words are thoughts externalized and as a man think in his heart, so is he. This explains why we become what we have affirmed implicitly. Our spirit guide has to plant new affirmations but first it must make unconscious negative affirmations conscious so that we can recognize it and be in a position to choose a different way of affirming our experiences continuously.

We are constantly affirming reality through the words of affirmations we have stored in our storehouse of affirmations. If we have affirmed going to school, getting good grades and graduating and going to college then working for 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week for 40 years and retire, then rest assure you will get exactly that.

Bill Gates wired into his brain a different set of affirmations than the large crowd. He stepped out of the norm and created Microsoft words of affirmation and this stepping out of the norm yielded him a life that stands apart from the normal affirmations of lack. The few people who followed him took on a new mental organization in which they believed enough in his affirmation of abundance in computer programs.

What words have you affirmed in your mind? Have you affirmed problems or have you affirmed abundance? Have you focused more attentions on bills and confrontations or have you focused more on wealth and peace? Where is your point of awareness?

How are you implicitly affirmed to react to challenges in your life situations? Have you mentally prepared yourself to respond to money as of though it is abundant or have you prepared your response to be one of lack and not enough? If you look closely at how you feel and the certain way you act towards money you will see that your world and experiences about money comes to you in an exact proportion of your corresponding inner state.

We can only perceive what our brain is organized to tell us. Perhaps the reason why we have not perceive the life of a millionaire is because we have not organized our brains to attain millionaire status. A millionaire thought is a millionaire seed.

Why Thinking You Know Self-Defense is Not the Same As Knowing How to Defend Yourself

Why Thinking You Know Self-Defense is Not the Same As Knowing How to Defend Yourself

It’s amazing how many theories there are about self-defense. Especially here on the internet, where anyone can freely distribute information, regardless of the truth or value of that information. Do you know what I mean?

It’s true that there have always been self-proclaimed “experts” who could take advantage of the ignorance or naivity of a prospective student, even before the advent of the world wide web. However, back then, a student had to find one of these people – you had to leave your home to get with one of these so-called “experts.”. Today, merely searching for self-defense using a search engine, puts you within easy reach of many more possibilities and potential huksters, than ever before.

Of course, in the age of the internet, there has also been a significant increase in the number of people who believe that they can merely sit in a chair and stare at a computer screen to learn everything they need to protect themselves in a real-world self-defense situation. Long-gone are the days when you had to actually go to the store, buy the book or video, and bring it home to read or watch. Now, all you have to do is to do a search on the phrase “self-defense,” and the next thing you know, you’re reading or watching something for little to nothing at all.

And, this includes…

…time ACTUALLY doing the work of learning.

Contrary to popular belief, the study of self-defense – of actually being able to protect yourself in a dangerous situation – requires more than simply reading something or watching someone else perform for you. You simply DO NOT get the same understanding that you do when you are actually participating.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not saying that you can’t learn things from books and videos. What I am saying is, self-defense is not, say, math. In a dangerous encounter with a brutal assailant, you can’t rely on a mentally memorized formula and then set out to answer this real-world problem like you can when you’re learning to solve a math problem in school. With math, it doesn’t matter what numbers they put in front of you or how the equation is laid out, you’re not going to end up with a broken body part, or worse, if you get the answer wrong.

Not true with self-defense!

You must remember that, in a real-world self-defense situation, you will be punished for every mistake you make. And, never forget how high the stakes are.

What I’m talking about here is the difference between what many believe to be the same concepts. If you look up the word “knowledge,” in a Thesaurus, you will also find words like “information,” and “widsom.” And yet, these concepts are very different. And, having one, doesn’t necessarily provide you with the others.

Here’s what I mean…

In the grander scheme of things, information – data – is just that… Information. It’s what you get when you hear, read, or learn something for the first time. It is not, by itself, “knowledge” – the skill and ability to use that “information” – born out of practice – to where you don’t have to think about it.

An example of this is tying your shoes. When mom or dad provided you with your first lesson about tying your shoes, you didn’t suddenly know how to do it. It was still just information. You had to remember each step, in order, or it wouldn’t work. You didn’t know “why” the knot was tied that way, only that you were told to do so. And you certainly couldn’t do it in a rush – under pressure – if you had to get your shoes on in a hurry because the family was running late.

Now, you “know” how to tie your shoes. You can tie your shoes quickly and even tie other people’s shoes for them. In fact, you probably have “knowledge” about several different types of knots, and… You now know why you couldn’t just tie the knot any old way – because you didn’t want to have to grab a fork to pry it open!

But, there is a level beyond knowledge – a level where the person knows more than just “how” something is done, but “why,” “when,” “where,” etc. This is the level of wisdom. The wise knot-tier know which knot for what job – and why that knot is best. He knows what makes for a good knot and what doesn’t so he can actually combine knots or make up his own.

But, the wise person didn’t get where he is by simply reading a book, did he? No… He actually had to break out the ropes and work with the knots – tying, untying, retying, dealing with mistakes, confusion, and the like. Hours upon hours of practice. And sometimes, he had to seek out someone who knew how to make the knots better than him – he had to actually put his knots to use, to know if he were really doing it right.

My point here is that, if you’re really going to be prepared for what you MUST be prepared for when a situation arises, you must be able to do more than remember what you read or saw in a martial arts book or self-defense video – you’re going to have to act!

Here’s a brief list of what simply reading or watching a video about self-defense CAN’T give you:

1) Experience with handling the raw emotions and sheer animosity that will be coming at you in a real self-defense attack. In a good, solid, and well-structured program, there should be drills and exercises – aside from technique training – that will simulate some of this real-world energy.

2) Knowledge about what a technique feels like when it’s being applied correctly. Many actively training students will tell you that, what they think they see their teacher doing from the angle they’re watching from, can often be VERY different from what is actually going on.

3) Direct experience with how another human being is going to act and react to your technique. What you’re seeing outlined in the pictures or video… Is the IDEAL – the technique happening with NO PROBLEMS.

4) Feedback from a qualified teacher. No matter how many times you read the same book or watch that awesome self-defense video by Sensei Joe-Cool, and no matter how well you “think” you’re perfoming the technique in your self-training sessions…

…that teacher can’t give you pointers or tell you where you’re going wrong.

We can often think we get something, but we have to remember that, without a proper foundation and accurate knowledge about that “thing” already, we have no way of knowing if we really get what’s being taught or conveyed.

I could go on and on about the benefits of getting off your duff and actually training, but I think you get the point by now. Sometimes, as in the case of learning self-defense, you can’t rely on guess work and a lazy or know-it-all attitude.

Sometimes you actually have to get up and get moving. Otherwise, you’re never going to know if you actually know what you think you know. And…

…thinking you know self-defense DOES NOT mean that you know how to defend yourself!

Content About : Why Thinking You Know Self-Defense is Not the Same As Knowing How to Defend Yourself Article

It appears that everywhere you turn these days you cannot help but run into someone espousing the benefits of affirmations. Many of these people are very well intentioned, and some are simply riding what they believe to be a popular wave of excitement. The truth is affirmations do work, when you work them.

Affirmations are not a new idea. The history of the word can be traced back to the mid 1500s. Still today’s culture provides a fertile playground for their use and abuse. Affirmations are touted as the end all and be all of human aliments, discomforts and desires. The truth is much more subtle. Reciting an affirmation once or twice or posting in on your bathroom mirror simply does not cut it. Affirmations must become a part of your feelings and emotions. We must also determine just what feelings and emotions are. Feelings are the physical aspects of an event and your emotions are the mental reaction to those feelings. It follows that first we must create a feeling, something that moves our physical being and this will produce an emotional response. Here lies the true power of affirmations.

In order to manifest our desires, change our conditions or create a new reality for ourselves we must create an underlying sense of having already accomplished our desire. Many of us have heard or used the phrase “Fake it until you make it.” While this does in some sense hold true, I prefer to think in terms of “Know it as possible and Know it as SO.” Affirmations help us to know the possibilities. I do not believe we need fake anything. Faking it subtly implies the impossibility of something. We are working with a very subtle principle here so the more specific we are the better results we will experience. Knowing IT is possible leads us to feeling hopeful, expectant, accepting of our truth or greater yet to be. This is the real feeling we are after with affirmations, the Greater Yet To Be. We simply know our good is coming to us; there is really no way it could not. The Law of Attraction (LOA) spells all this out clearly we will get whatever we think about. Affirmations are a simple way to initiate the LOA and we must do so with a firm belief that our requests are already manifest in the mind of the Universe. Once we recognize our affirmations as possible in the Universe it is only a short path to recognizing these same affirmations as manifest in and as our body of affairs. Are you with me?

How many times have you heard “thoughts become things” or “what you think about you bring about”? These statements are very true, but can you simply think a thought once or twice and expect to experience a manifestation of that thought? Of course not, if this was true we would all be murders, divorced, or in jail. Our errant and wild thoughts do not become things because we give them very little energy. Our affirmations become reality when we give them energy. Where then does the energy come from? The energy in affirmations is repetition. How many times must a recite an affirmation for it to work? The answer is simple, as many times at it takes. I have always bee a proponent of “praying unceasingly” and this refers to praying until you see or experience the manifestation. Remember as soon as you affirm your truth the Universe begins moving that good into your life, if you give up affirming before you experience the good it is not that the universe failed to bring you your desire, it is that you must remain steadfast in your belief until your life matched the good you have been attracting. Repetition is therefore the key to manifesting our affirmations.

A good affirmation is short and easily to remember. This makes it a simple process to repeat 100 times a day. Try reciting “I am whole and complete with nothing missing in my life.” Now say that ten times. How long did it take? Now try repeating this affirmation ten times at ten different times a day. If it takes 1 or 2 minutes to repeat ten times you will invest ten or twenty minutes a day reciting this affirmation 100 times. It is a simple process to get to one hundred. The fun begins when you realize it need not be a verbal recitation to be effective. What if every time you used a restroom you silent repeated “I am whole and complete with nothing missing in my life”? Soon you will begin to feel this affirmation as the truth of your life. As you build the feeling you begin to believe this truth. As you begin to believe the Universe responds by bringing experiences that prove this as true of your life. As you begin to experience the proof of your affirmation you more easily accept and recognize the experiences of life as more proof of this truth. This self feeding cycle builds and builds until you no longer need remind yourself of your truth. Once you experience the manifestation of your affirmation you are open to moving into a new affirmation. Soon life becomes an amazing experience of Divine Truth operating as you life in every moment.

Will you slip and forget this truth? The obvious answer is yes you will, but you are not required to forget and repeat these reminders. The belief that you may forget your truth is one of those limiting beliefs that I believe no longer serve your Divine Life. Why not try affirming “I let go of any beliefs that no longer serve me and my evolution as a spiritual being.” The possibilities are endless and that’s the good news.

The truth of Affirmations is simply that they do work and they are the truth of your Divine Life if you use them. Many people today tell me they have tried affirmations and they did not work or that they worked for a short time and then they became too simplistic of a process. I ask you to consider if you are really working your affirmations or are you playing lip service to this powerful spiritual practice? The term spiritual practice is just that, a practice. We must continue to use the tools we have and practice them daily in order to master the skill.

I want you to know I recognize you as a Divine Emanation of Spirit, GOD, the Universe and you have the Power to express that Divinity in every moment. I suggest you practice reminding yourself of this truth by using affirmations unceasingly. Enjoy today and remember to affirm your truth until you see the manifestation and you will create the life you truly desire.

Creative Writing Secrets – 7 Ways You Limit Your Creative Writing Potential Without Even Knowing It

Creative Writing Secrets – 7 Ways You Limit Your Creative Writing Potential Without Even Knowing It

All of us have an ocean of creative writing potential waiting to be discovered. But having the potential to do something, and actually DOING it, are a world apart.

There are many reasons why we don’t write as deeply, as freely and as consistently as we’re capable of. So here are 7 of the most common ways you may be limiting YOUR creative writing potential without even knowing it, and what you can do to turn them around:

1. You don’t capture your new ideas. A major complaint of creative writers is they don’t have enough good ideas. Having the ideas though is not the issue. How many times have you had a great idea appear in your head at the most unlikely moment and thought: “wow, what an interesting idea, I could really develop this into something…” and then forgotten it as quickly as it appeared?

Capture your ideas as soon as they come to you, using a small notebook. Carry it with you wherever you go, and you’ll soon realise not only how many ideas you’ve been having and just not noting them down, but you’ll also see that the more ideas you do capture, the more ideas appear to fill their place.

2. You don’t write everyday. Creating each and everyday is one of the fundamental building blocks of a consistent creative life. When you say you’ll create “when you have time”, guess what happens? Yep, you never seem to have time, and so you never write much.

Sit down and write for a minimum of 15 minutes each and every day at the same time each day. The power of this habit has so many benefits, not least of which that you give your creative mind a regular space and a place to, well, create!

3. You don’t seek out inspiration. If your daily routine involves seeing exactly the same surroundings and few places, and you never go anywhere different or try any new experiences, you’re writing will be similarly monotone and limited.

Keep your inspiration topped up by regularly making time for yourself to visit new places, see things you’ve always wanted to see, and absorb a little more culture and nature. The change in surroundings will stimulate your senses, which in turn feeds your creative mind with new ideas and inspiration.

4. You don’t believe you’re creative. Although on the surface you might think you have strong beliefs in your creative ability, often just below the surface a whole gaggle of limiting beliefs are conspiring to hold you back without you realising.

Honestly question what you REALLY believe about your creativity. Write out a few positive statements like “I believe I am a creative writer” and “I have an unlimited potential for new ideas” and notice your instinctive reaction to these statements. If they feel uncomfortable or untrue, it’s time to work on making your underlying beliefs more positive.

5. You don’t have a place to create. We all need somewhere to create, a place where we feel comfortable and can get into our writing without major distraction. Without this kind of space, we’ll never get into any kind of flow with our writing.

Make a space that’s just yours for writing. It might be a whole room, it might simply be a cosy chair in the corner of a room. But make it special to you, personalise it, do all you can to give yourself the best chance of writing as freely as possible when you come here to write.

6. You don’t set any creative goals. Before your run away screaming at the word “goals”, claiming an artist can’t possibly be tied down with such limiting concepts, think about this: A goal doesn’t need to be complex, rigid and suffocating. A goal is just something you’d like to do, with a date when you like to do it.

By setting goals as clear and simple as: “This Sunday, beginning at 10am I’m going to spend at least 2 hours on writing my new short story” you’ll get SO MUCH MORE done than if you just say “I might try to fit in a bit of work on my short story sometime this weekend”… Try setting a few goals – it works!

7. You don’t acknowledge your progress. Because you live with yourself day in, day out, it’s very difficult to objectively view how much you’re developing as a writer. Which means most of the time it feels like you’re writing exactly the same stuff you were writing 5 years ago or that you hardly write very much at all.

By taking the time to review how you’re evolving – every 3 or 6 months is a good period of time – you can gain huge confidence from realising not only that your writing style has developed, but that actually you’ve also written far more than you thought you had.

These are 7 of the most common reasons why you’re not writing to your creative potential. Which do you most relate to?

Which one area can you choose to work on from today, to start unleashing more of that creative writing talent within you that’s bursting to get out?

Knowing What to Look For – Skin Cancer Symptoms

Knowing What to Look For – Skin Cancer Symptoms

Skin cancer is the most frequently diagnosed malignancy in the United States. The good news is that nearly 100 percent of all skin cancers are curable if they are treated early. For this reason alone, it is important to be aware of skin cancer symptoms so that you can get treatment as soon as possible if you are diagnosed with a malignancy.

Frequently, skin neoplasms, or cancers, begin growing on the skin’s surface. Skin growths that have been a part of a person’s skin tissue from birth are usually not malignant. If the appearances of these moles, marks, or growths change, however, they may have become cancerous, and it is essential to have them examined as soon as possible by a physician.

Much of the time these cancers start out appearing like a sore or pimple. These sores may begin bleeding or draining fluid. Although they may scab over, they later begin to bleed or seep once more. Nonmelanoma cancers are usually less severe, and are found most often on areas of the body often exposed to the sun. In contrast, malignant melanomas, which are more deadly than the other forms of skin cancer, typically grown on the legs or torso (trunk).

Frequently, basal cell carcinomas are colored a pale grey. If you look closely, you may see miniscule blood vessels inside these skin tumors. In comparison, squamous cell carcinomas are often painful. These growths are reddish in appearance, and the surface skin is often scaly. These frequently drain or bleed, develop scabs, and begin draining once more.

Unlike these other cancers, which are slow-growing and appear very different from the tissue around them, malignant melanomas often develop unexpectedly from previously normal skin tissue. These neoplasms typically appear in a variety of colors, including white, red, brown, blue, or even black.

Except for the changes in skin tissue, people who develop skin cancers rarely show other symptoms unless the cancer has spread to other organs. Most of the time, persons with basal cell carcinoma or squamous cell carcinoma are diagnosed before their malignancies have spread. This, however, may not always be the case with individuals who develop malignant melanomas. The symptoms these persons develop depend on the organ to which the cancer spreads.

If you notice skin changes, get them checked immediately. If you develop these skin cancer symptoms, finding the malignancy and seeing a doctor may mean the difference between life and death!

Affirmations get a bad rap by many in the areas of personal growth and development, and at the same time by others are touted as the magic to changing your life. There are those who tell you that using affirmations is THE way to changing your thinking thus changing your life, and others who say they are a useless waste of time.

Here I will attempt to clarify and set straight the place and value of affirmations in your self improvement efforts to change and grow in your life. The topic of affirmations fits into what I call “A fine line.” There is a fine line between going too far one way or the other. To get the value from something you must find the “fine line” place in the middle, too far one way or the other, and you loose it. And so it is with affirmations.

First, some of the misconception comes from people grasping for the quick fix. We all know how we can easily read into something what we want. And that what most people are looking for is the quickest, easiest way to make changes in their life, which does really not exist.

All related factors must be addressed to realize real results. Affirmations do play a role in your overall self development and growth but are certainly not the only tool that must be used to get the results you want. Affirmations alone will not bring about the major change in life some believe, on the other hand they are not totally worthless as many others make them out to be.

Much of what is taught in the personal growth and development field is just part of the story. Where someone has focused on one or even a few aspects of what is involved and highlighting just those parts, which gives the impression that, that is all there is. Yes, in short change it is simple, but there are many ‘between the lines’ aspects that come into play, and one of these is affirmations.

It’s easy to allow ourselves to get consumed with one aspect of life development when our focus is on just one element, which is the case with many books and trainings. It is good to study and focus on one aspect if this is something specifically you feel you need to learn and user, but don’t forget about the whole picture.

Now those who say that just using affirmations will fix your life, seem to ‘forget’ about the aspects of action, among other things, which we can’t escape as we are in this physical reality. Yes, your thoughts and your feelings play a crucial role in how you manage and develop your life, but that’s not all. You must take appropriate actions, it’s your job, your design here in this physical reality we enjoy. If we weren’t suppose to be involved physically why are we here?

And, those who say affirmations are worthless are missing out on a powerful tool that has some purpose when one is working on their thinking. And, yes, your thinking is absolutely critical as everything revolves around it. I think why some people look down on the use of affirmations comes from their reaction to others who say that affirmations are all you need. But this all or nothing reaction does not serve anyone well.

Here are some ways that affirmations are useful in your self improvement work:

* Affirmations help set your tone. Your overall attitude and feeling will affect what you think about. It affects how you act and interact with others. It virtually colors your day. Using affirmations will help direct your daily tone.

* Affirmations help keep your thinking positive – on what you want and away from what you don’t want. If affirmations serve no other purpose for you than this, it makes them well worth using, if all you do is use affirmations to replace unwanted thinking with desirable thinking you have won big. A critical part of change is to learn to stop focusing on what you don’t want and rather focus on what you do want.

* Affirmations help build mental discipline. As you learn affirmations and actually use them regularly, you are training your mind to a different way of thinking on a daily basis. You are learning how you can change your thought and how to keep it as you want. You are learning to take command of your thinking by directing it rather than allowing everything to be automatic.

* Affirmations help evolve your thinking in the direction you want. As you develop affirmations for yourself, you are thinking about and expanding your thinking in the areas that you want to play a greater role in your life. The more you work with developing affirmative and supportive statements, the more you will discover what is possible.

Now, maybe if your thinking is already 100% supportive of what you want in life, where you are going, and you never slip into any thought of doubt, worry and what you don’t like, you don’t need affirmations. Actually if this is the case, you have already assimilated the affirmation like thought into your everyday thinking. Your conscious mind is already always on the positive, supportive congruent thoughts of your ideal life as it is freely unfolding. For anyone else, affirmations can be a useful tool.

Affirmations are a wonderful tool for effecting your thinking, which is very important in your growth and development, as long as you don’t get stuck thinking that this is all you need to do. It takes more than just your thoughts to see results, but developing your thinking is key to your knowing the right actions to take, when and how to get the results you want.
