Prosperity’s 12 Affirmations are 12 powerful affirmations of prosperity and well-being drawn from the 10 Commandments (Exodus 20:1-17) and the book Prosperity’s 10 Commandments by Georgiana Tree West. The 11th and 12th affrimations are inspired by Jesus’ 2 great commandments found in Matthew 22:37-39. Prosperity’s first 4 affirmations help to internalize ideas that contribute to establishing a prospering relationship with the Fundamental Creative Energy of the Universe – God. In this article we will look at four affirmations, which will help you internalize ideas that aid in creating prospering relationships with other people. As you use these affirmations to create your abundant life, you will begin to establish habits of language and action that will enable you to create mutually prospering relationships with other people. Affirm these affirmations daily and you make these powerful prosperity principles a basic part of your life experience.
Four Affirmations for Prospering Relationships with Others
“I maintain my highest integrity when connecting with God and interacting with God’s agents of my wealth”. Perhaps this affirmation should be “I am faithful to God and respectful of people”. The key to success with this affirmation is to stay conscious of our relationship to God, our only Source of supply. Then we will remember that others are also connected to the God-Source. In this consciousness we create the possibility for everyone with whom we interact to bless us in some way. However, we must be open and receptive to the blessing. When we maintain our integrity and treat people with respect, we empower them and they are likely to empower us, quite possibly in unexpected ways.
“I keep my wealth circulating and creating blessings for others and for me”. The Commandment upon which this affirmation is based is “Thou Shalt Not Murder”. Habitual thoughts of poverty and limitation are murderers of prosperity. We affirm this affirmation in language and in action through our generosity, tithing and giving. In using this affirmation we are creating our experience of the unimpeded circulation of wealth and abundance.
“I only use my wealth for creative, uplifting, enlightening, joyful and life affirming purposes”. This affirmation helps us to keep our motives and uses for money pure and unadulterated. We remind ourselves that money is Love in action and we focus on the positive uses of our money as a pure expression of love. With this affirmation we exercise the power of intention. When we create a field of clear intention we take advantage of the natural processes of creation to yield the object or service for which we expended a portion of our wealth but we have the added benefit of spiritual and emotional satisfaction because others are blessed and benefited by our intentions and actions.
“I always give generous and fair compensation for value received”. This affirmation helps us practice the Law of Compensation which reminds us that when we are attempting to get something for nothing, we are actually trying to steal. However, when we are willing to give fair compensation for everything we receive, we stay in the continuous flow of prosperity.
Next Steps Take action by repeating these affirmations until they feel natural to you. You may want to craft your own version of these affirmations to really make them yours. The time and energy you invest in working with the affirmations will pay large dividends in your experience of prosperity and abundance.
There is little doubt that using affirmations can help you develop a mindset that can help you achieve limitless wealth, success and self fulfillment. Most people when they use affirmations simply use positive affirmations and while they are effective, there are a number of things that you can do to make your use of affirmation far more effective.
1. Record your own affirmations. Commercial recordings work very well but, affirmations recorded in your own voice are more effective. While commercial recordings use a generic voice, it has been scientifically proven that your subconscious mind is far more sensitive to the sound of your own voice. When your subconscious mind hears your voice, it is far more likely to accept the affirmation and embed it permanently in your memory than the generic voice on a commercial recording.
2. Write your own affirmations. Commercial audios, by nature, design their affirmations for the widest possible audience. While this may help, if you write your own affirmations, they will specifically address the areas that you need to work on. In addition, your subconscious mind is also more sensitive to your style of writing and speaking and will therefore accept the affirmation much more readily.
3. Record your affirmations with a musical background. Famed super learning researcher Georgi Lorzanov discovered that the mind will achieve a super learning state when you play certain types of music while listening to your affirmations. Play Mozart, Bach or possibly an entrainment audio and the mind will settle into the Alpha State and be much more receptive to new knowledge or affirmations. The scientific name for this is the “Mozart Effect.” This is also the reason that they recommend that you play classical music while your child is very young. Children who listen to classical music up to the age of five, typically develop a much higher IQ.
4. Use the Lorzanov pattern to listen to your affirmations. Lorzanov also discovered that a specific repetitive pattern was more effective in creating a super learning state. Repeat your affirmations 3 times with a 6 second interval and the effect of the affirmations will be much stronger.
5. Don’t just use positive affirmations. While positive affirmations are very effective, they are only part of the story. The human mind is a steel trap. Once you have learned something, you will never forget it. If you learned a self limiting belief when you were young, you will remember it for life. For this reason, you should use clearing affirmations. What you are trying to do is correct the old false belief with a corrected version of that belief. For example, you may have heard as a child that rich people are greedy. To try to correct this false belief, you might try a corrective affirmation like this: people say that rich people are greedy but, the truth is that the truly wealthy are the most charitable people in the world. This way the old self limiting thought pattern has been replaced with a corrected version which will not limit your financial growth.
Affirmations are incredibly effective in creating a wealth mindset and these few little steps will make them much more effective. Affirmations are far more than just positive thinking.

Affirmations are probably the easiest and most effective method – compared to the effort involved – known to influence the conscious mind. Many of the world’s most intelligent experts and philosophers have used, and are using this technique, which has been handed down over thousands of years, in various guises such as mantras and prayers. The difference today, because of the now more wide spread knowledge of this technique, is that people from all walks of life are using them to meet people, win tournaments, heal disease and close business deals.
Affirmations are quite simple by their very nature, as all they really are is simple statements repeated regularly to yourself, whether silently or aloud, and practical to you at the time. You can do them anywhere, you decide upon a statement that represents what you want to have happen to you, and then you simply repeat it to yourself over and over again.
As an example, let’s say you find yourself in a familiar situation which normally upsets you and leaves you worn out and stressed, when actually you would prefer to be relaxed and unworried by it, this would be the exact time when using a positive affirmation would be beneficial to you, and in this situation a good example of an affirmation you would repeat to yourself to help change the situation could be ” I feel calm and relaxed, I feel calm and relaxed, I feel calm and relaxed”. Now at this point it is important that you don’t try to force yourself to feel calm and relaxed, just make sure that you keep repeating the affirmation to yourself for approx 5 minutes. Another quick example of a positive use of affirmations would be prior to attending an important business meeting that you would like to go well; this time you would begin affirming to yourself a few minutes beforehand with something like this “It’s going to be a great meeting, It’s going to be a great meeting.”
So Exactly What are You Doing When You do Affirmations?
When you use affirmations you are influencing, directly, the very thoughts that are occurring at any one specific time in your mind. As your mind can only hold one thought at a time, an affirmation works by cramming your mind and filling it with thoughts that support your goal. It’s quite clever really; in a simple way the words are suggesting to your mind what it should be thinking, so if you are affirming ” It’s going to be a great meeting ” then your mind naturally begins thinking related thoughts about it being a great meeting. It really is quite simple really, but the technique can be remarkably effective in helping you achieve the results you are looking for.
How do You Know if You are Doing it Right?
Well it’s all in the words you choose, they must be POSITIVE not negative, and, as gratitude forms part of the whole attraction process, you should include words that also convey this. For example, I use the following terminology to start all of my affirmations, taught by a great mentor of mine, Bob Proctor (from The Secret, Movie) no matter what I am affirming ” I am so Happy and Grateful now”. These words you will notice also use another important aspect of affirmations, they must always be in the present tense, as if you already have whatever it is happen. So if for example you have a money affirmation to bring more financial abundance into your life you could say ” I am so Happy and Grateful Now That Money is Attracted to me and I am attracted to money” or, for more opportunities to appear to you, you could say ” I am so Happy and Grateful Now That New Opportunities are Presented to me From Multiple Sources on a Continuous Basis”
You actually don’t even need to believe what you are affirming! This mistake can have a counter effect and nullify the effects. I know of many people who have used affirmations unsuccessfully mainly because they were trying to force themselves to believe. By the way, don’t get me wrong, if you DO believe what you are affirming, this will only serve to enhance, but if you don’t, then that’s OK too. You don’t have to force anything; by the process of repetition your mind will pick up the content of your affirmations and will therefore allow the correct thoughts into your consciousness.
You must also keep your affirmations reasonably short and to the point, easy to say and easy to repeat over and over again. I try to keep my affirmations to a maximum of 25 words, sometimes a lot less. Even 2 or 3 words can sometimes be an effective affirmation, short statements like ” I have tremendous success always” or ” I achieve record sales ” I have seen affirmations that were a full page long. There’s absolutely no chance that you can repeat an affirmation of that length in an effective manner, and I have found with people who have affirmations which are too long, soon tire of the repetition and the affirmation soon fizzles out. So the lesson here is, make it short and make it easy to say and repeat.
Also be very careful that you do not use your affirmations in a careless way that means they may work against you, for example statements like ” I’ll never get it done” I’ll never do it” I always lose” are all affirmations that you can easily find yourself repeating to yourself without even realizing it, so watch out for these.
So remember that anybody can create affirmations and use them effectively throughout the day to help accomplish the things that they want. They can be said anywhere, in the doctor’s waiting room, in a traffic jam, they don’t need to be believed, all you have to do is repeat them. I repeat my affirmations 5 times per day, however this is my personal preference which works well for me, but if I was to recommend a minimum I would say 3 times per day, first thing when you get out of bed in the morning – this sets the tone for the rest of the day – secondly, at lunch time – this helps to re-motivate you when typically you might be flagging – and thirdly just before you go to sleep – this is when your subconscious mind is in its most receptive state. Two or three minutes is all you need, start doing this now and commit to repeating every day and you will be amazed at how quickly you will begin to produce a noticeable affect.

The dictionary description is:
af-fir-ma-tion [af-er-mey-shun]
1. The act or an instance of affirming; state of being affirmed.
2. the assertion that something exists or is true.
3. something that is affirmed; a statement or proposition that is declared to be true.
4. confirmation or ratification of the truth or validity of a prior judgment, decision, etc.
Thoughts repeated regularly and systematically sink into the subconscious mind and become habitual. Affirmations as these are called are used by many children and adults to create lasting changes in their lives. Finding the right affirmations to use is much more effective if it is in your own words and way of thinking. It is important that your affirmations are written in your own words since the subconscious will react better to your own thoughts than to the thoughts of someone else. It is easy to understand that you probably would not trust anyone more than you trust yourself. Start by taking notice of what you want to change in yourself. Write down on paper your thoughts, desires, and feelings that you may wish to improve upon.
How to use affirmations
When wording your affirmation, you need to use words and phrases for your affirmations in a positive manner rather than a negative manner. As an example, if you wanted to quit smoking, you would not want an affirmation such as “Cigarette smoking makes me sick” because you will in turn cause yourself to get sick. It is better to phrase affirmations like “I am a non-smoker” or “I am healthy and dislike the smell and taste of cigarette smoke” thereby instructing your subconscious to see a different you. When your subconscious sees yourself different, you will become different. Whatever the subconscious mind believes, the conscious mind becomes.
It is important to choose your words wisely. You do not want to use phrases like “I want” because no change will take place since your subconscious is already there. In other words, affirmations worded with “I want” simply are a statement of what “you want”, this only affirms that you will always want whichever it is your affirmations are presenting. You must see yourself as a different you by visualizing what it is you would like to accomplish. Use words like “I am” or “I have”, this allows your subconscious to visualize and believe you are already what you wish to become instead of what you want to become.
Positive affirmations can enhance any area of your life, from improving health, skills, success, relationships and more to conquering bad habits like unhealthy eating habits, aggressive tempers and attitudes, biting nails, bed wetting, drug addictions, or lack of attention and motivation. There are many resources available to help those who find creating affirmations to be difficult. Affirmations can be found on the Internet or in books. Remember to try and use any outside suggestions only as an example and maybe rephrase it in your own words. Thoughts and phrases should come from words within your terms of speaking. If you wish to improve your health, you can find hundreds of examples on the Internet that reflect healthy aspects. Though if for instance you were to find some health affirmations worded in a manner that you would not typically speak, you need to re-write that affirmation into your own words so that you comprehend what your affirmation means. Your subconscious will work faster with affirmations spoken in your terms of speaking faster than that of someone else’s if you do not fully understand it. An example of this could be the legal terminology that most attorneys use, most of us can read it and somewhat understand it, but the lawyers are the ones that can pick it apart and know exactly what it is exclaiming to in ways we probably never imagined. If your mind does not fully comprehend the meaning of the affirmations you are feeding it, your process will not take effect as fast.
How long before you see results
It can take approximately 20 days to create a lasting change but can start taking affect on your behavior a lot sooner where you can notice yourself actually beginning to change in the way you have expressed through your affirmations. It does matter how you use the affirmations too, if you only use your affirmations during the day instead at night like suggested, it may take longer to take affect. Using a recorder or an affirmation unit such as the Mindmaster at night can allow you to create the change subconsciously without the common distractions one normally endures during the day with normal everyday life. Whether it is distractions with traffic, kids, work, cellphones, animals, you name it, they take away from the effectiveness of repeating your affirmations. You could also possibly take time out of your day to go somewhere that is maybe free of these distractions, but that is sometimes a luxury that many of us don’t have. It also takes away from getting other things done too. However, when you are sleeping you have no distractions and the subconscious mind receives everything you tell it. Since your subconscious never sleeps, it is even more receptive to receiving and retaining messages because any doubt and disbelief, which are conscious barriers, are dissolved while you are sleeping, allowing your subconscious image to be changed more effectively.
Affirmations and children
Affirmations though not as widely used as they are for adults can be used with children to help them overcome obstacles that they face with growing up. Fears of the dark, fears of the potty, eating habits, aggressive behaviors, controlling emotions, improving skills and confidence. There are many uses just like with adults that can help your child as well. They should be able to utilize all available tolls that they can when growing up, this shapes them into who they will become later in life. Using affirmations with a child can be a bit different from the way we may use them as adults. Adults have the ability to remember they need to repeat their affirmations where kids usually lack the ability to remember the simplest things they were just told to do. This is where targeting the subconscious mind works best. Much like how adults use recorders, there is a product on the market that is designed for children to repeat their affirmation back to them at night while they sleep on a timed program so it is not in a continuous loop. It has been proven to work successfully with speaking toddlers guided by their parents directive. If you are having problems with potty training for instance, children have stopped wetting the bed in as little as a week, for good and all on their own. This not only helps give the child a sense of accomplishment but also self confidence and belief that they can achieve their goals.

You already have most of the knowledge in the self-improvement subject. Still, why are some people more successful than others? You might have been inspired by a book or tape in the past. Why doesn’t that motivation last longer? Even if you already know the things, why weren’t you able to apply them effectively as the time goes by? The answers to these questions are in affirmations.
Key point is you need to be constantly reminded of the positive qualities you already possess. It has been said that the repetition is the mother of skill. Affirmations provide an excellent way to accomplish that.
It’s a well known fact that our beliefs create our reality. If we think we can win, we can. Affirmations are the best way to develop our belief system.
What is Affirmation?
The Official I AM University website defines Affirmation as A positive statement that has been specifically worded for the purpose of reprogramming the subconscious mind with positive and spiritual thoughts. One of the key tools of attitudinal healing and reprogramming our subconscious mind. This is a fundamental tool given that our thoughts create our reality! (iamuniversity.org/glossary/cv_glossarylist.php)
Affirmation is also known as: Pep talk, Autosuggestion, Positive self talk, Self-suggestion, Mental programming, Positive thinking, Self-hypnosis, Psycho-cybernetics, the Alpha method.
Affirmation is the medium for influencing the subconscious mind.
How Do Affirmations Work?
You know the commercials – same advertisements are shown over and over again. They know the importance of repetition. It takes repetition for an idea to sink in our minds. You need to do the same thing with the positive qualities you are aware of, for them to be absorbed and acted upon by your subconscious.
Napoleon Hill says in Think and Grow Rich – “Here is a most significant fact – the subconscious mind takes any orders given it in a spirit of absolute FAITH, and acts upon those orders, although the orders often have to be presented over and over again, through repetition, before they are interpreted by the subconscious mind.”
Statistics show that negative news is broadcast 11 times more than good news. How can we positively influence our thinking in such a negative environment that we live in? Auto-suggestions help you stay positive even during adverse conditions.
The law of correspondence says our outer reality is a reflection of our inner reality. You attract what you are. It’s true with your financial success or any other success.
Pat Riley, Coach, Miami Heat Basketball team, 2006 NBA champions, quoted – “A champion needs a motivation above and beyond winning” – When you find your purpose and commit it to your core through affirmations you can find that kind of motivation.
A coach motivates his team. Words motivate. You use the affirmations to motivate yourself.
Psychologists and scriptures affirm again and again the importance of having faith. One must have faith in self to achieve any amount of success. “… FAITH is a state of mind which may be induced, or created, by affirmation or repeated instructions to the subconscious mind, through the principle of auto-suggestion.” – says Napoleon Hill the author of classic Think and Grow Rich – “… you may CONVINCE the subconscious mind that you believe you will receive that for which you ask, and it will act upon that belief, which your subconscious mind passes back to you in the form of ‘FAITH’, followed by definite plans for procuring that which you desire.
“…. any impulse of thought which is repeatedly passed on to the subconscious mind is, finally, accepted and acted upon by the subconscious mind, which proceeds to translate that impulse into its physical equivalent, by the most practical procedure available.”
Dr. David J. Schwartz, author of Magic Of Thinking Big says – “Build your own ‘sell yourself on yourself’ commercial. Think for a moment about one of America’s most popular products, Coca Cola. Every day your eyes or ears come in contact many times the good news about ‘Coke.’ The people who make Coca Cola are continually reselling you on ‘Coke’ and for a good reason. If they stopped reselling you, chances are you’d grow luke-warm and eventually cold to ‘Coke.’ Then sales would drop.
But the Coca Cola company isn’t going to let this happen. They resell you and resell you and resell you on ‘Coke.’ “
You got to sell yourself on yourself again and again to have faith, belief and confidence and then to succeed.
Mark Fisher and Marc Allen, authors of How to Think Like a Millionaire say – “Both authors of this book have experienced wonderful results by using a simple formula or affirmation developed by a famous French pharmacist, Emile Coue. … which consisted of these words: Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better.
The golden rule of self-suggestion is repetition, so this should be repeated daily – throughout the day – to have the best effect. A relaxed state, where the subconscious is most receptive to new information, is the best – though not essential. It makes the process effective much more quickly, however.”
Affirmation Examples:
Suppose you want to work on increasing your self-esteem. Self-esteem is a self-image at an emotional level; circumventing reason and logic, a key factor in success. You can use the following affirmations to increase your self-esteem: – “I like myself. I am a winner.” – “I am a valuable person.” – “I have abundance of good things in my life and I am thankful.” – “I am enthusiastic, energetic and full of hope and promise.” – “I am tough, bold, strong and confident.” – “Every day, in every way, I am getting better and better”
Similarly, about Goal Setting and taking action: – “I set long, medium and short term goals.” – “My dreams and goals make me look forward to each day.” – “I take an action step toward the attainment of at least one goal everyday.” – “I create an environment that enhances my focus on my dreams and goals.” – “I just write down what I want, prioritize them, and set them as goals with a date.”
Affirmations must be in first person, present tense format to be most effective. There are also secondary affirmations that positively influence our environment favorable for success. They are, such as – famous positive, motivating, empowering quotes, pictures, our own notes and jots that remind us of the inspiring things.
As Deepak Chopra says in Affluence – you do not need to consciously think about the affluent qualities, you just need to listen daily. Similarly, just complete an affirmation session everyday and subconscious will pick it up eventually and do the work.
“The greatest danger for most of us is not that our aim is too high and we miss it, but that it is too low and we reach it.” – Michelangelo
21 Days Make a Habit:
How can we develop good habits? Experts agree that after 21 days of repetition of positive actions you develop them into a habit. So, to start with, just pick only one category, repeat the affirmations and act on it. After 21 days you can move on to other categories.
We are the creatures of habit. 21 days make a habit. You can develop a good habit by working on it consistently for minimum 21 days.
“Do one thing every day that scares you.”–Eleanor Roosevelt
Why do people tend to forget? You need constant reminders. When you use it regularly, this tool can act as a reminder of positive qualities you already possess.
Music:
Studies have shown that slow (60 beats per minute) music brings the heart rate down to relaxing levels, calms the mind, and increases memory, learning abilities and effectiveness.
You must have experienced a good feeling while listening to an uplifting or melodious music. Listening to slow rhythmic music during affirmation may increase the effectiveness of affirmations though not necessary.
“It occurred to me by intuition, and music was the driving force behind that intuition. My discovery was the result of musical perception.” – Albert Einstein upon being asked about his theory of relativity.
“Music cleanses the understanding; inspires it, and lifts it into a realm which it would not reach if it were left to itself.” – Henry Ward Beecher.
Anything is accomplished taking one step at a time and that starts with the first step. As Karen Lamb quoted – “A year from now you may wish you had started today.” So, start using the Affirmations today.
