The News Is Good!

Generally speaking, I stay away from the ugliest news. I get my headlines from the internet and the newspaper, then I read the “good” ones. You know, good articles like the fire fighter who caught the baby that was thrown from the burning building. Anything that sounds like somebody is helping someone or there’s a happy ending.

Sure, I admit it. Just like you, I get sucked in sometimes by a train wreck, like the horrible storms that battered the Midwest in February, 2008. But there are good stories in those too sometimes. Like the baby who was thrown 300 feet by a tornado and barely had a scratch on him. Isn’t that good news?

The point is that there is plenty of crappy stuff to look at, read, and listen to, so I try to stay away from it as much as I can. This behavior suits my “happy at all costs!” model. Like I always say, if you’re not at least trying to be happy, then you’re not doing it right.

If you think that there is only bad news to be had, think again. The reason something is newsworthy is that it’s different from the norm. Do you think the anchors on the nightly news are going to go on camera, smile, and say, “Today, everything was really peaceful, and everyone is happy”? Certainly not. But the majority of what goes on each day is just your regular old life. A bank robbery or a school shooting is out-of-the-ordinary.

I recently listened to a CD by Christiane Northrup, M.D. She cited a study that concluded that the simple act of watching someone do good works boosts the immune system. Just watching Mother Theresa in action makes you healthier! Can you imagine? Why aren’t we all watching Mother Theresa films or hanging out at the Salvation Army?

And what does that tell you about watching the bad and the ugly? I’ll let you draw your own conclusions.

There is one good thing I can think of about hearing or watching less-than-pleasant news. Our ability to shine light and energy on those who need it. By actively thinking encouragement and sending energy to a situation, we have the power to change it, or at least to improve it.

For example, if you see a story on the news about a kidnapping, you can focus your thought on the victim and his/her family, wishing them peace and love. Oh, sure this sounds like hippie-dippy, flower-power, woo-woo stuff, but you know it works.

Try it soon. Choose a news story and see what kind of change you can effect simply by focusing your thoughts and energy. The rest of the instructions include staying present and positive. Leave out words like won’t, will, can’t, don’t, etc. In the example of the kidnapping, I might beam out thoughts like, “This family is at peace. The child is with her family. Love rests on all of them.” Nothing brings happiness like “present and positive.”

In the meantime, keep an eye on what you’re seeing. Good news, bad news, fun stuff? You get to choose. Don’t worry that if you’re not watching, you’re missing out or you’re somehow not contributing enough to the worry. All that worry ain’t gonna cut it. It’s the positive thought and energy that will bring about improvement.

Just think, if we can get 80% of people bouncing their positive thoughts around the world, what kind of world could we live in? Maybe the news anchors WOULD smile and say, “Today, everyone is happy!”

An affirmation is a thought or any judgment we pass. Affirmations directly influences our sub consciousness which then directs it into a certain direction either leading to a positive or negative change in our lives. Affirmations can be related to anything such as weight loss, self-esteem, love or even helps discover artistic talents. Using the power of artist’s affirmations can help you discover your artistic and expressive side, which can help you not only in the realm of art, poetry, and the like, but also in relationships and in business.

Artist’s affirmations are different from ordinary person’s affirmation but you first need to figure out your creative self and what you are good at. Try to bring out your artist self by creating some artist affirmations such as ‘I am very creative’ or ‘I was born out of creativity’. Some are good at dancing, painting, acting and many more. The basic artist affirmation is to feel like an artist and pour out the emotions inside you. Feel the emotions and try putting those emotions in your work. When an artist has any affirmation, they actually love and respect their own thoughts and try their best to turn their thoughts into reality. Generic artist’s affirmations will work for some people, but for others, you need to be more specific when creating your artist affirmations.

To become a successful artist, an artist should get rid of any negative affirmations such as having a feeling of failure. The best way to get rid of negative affirmations for artists is to paint out their negative thoughts and then probably later destroy those paintings feeling that by destroying those paintings all the negative thoughts are destroyed along with the painting.

Secondly feel the energy of success with every affirmation you make. Successful artists always affirm that they is worthy of success. To become a successful artist, affirm on a daily basis to be more successful. This will help bring out true and successful artist in you. Also create works of art which express success, happiness, life full of energy and anything positive. An artist keeps these works to inspire him all the time. A successful artist not only affirms but also visualizes his affirmations. It is also important that very carefully artist hears his affirmations. Thus, make it a point to repeat your affirmations out loud to yourself, because this will enhance the experience.

Artist affirmations can be as generic or as specific as you’d like, however, in general, artistic affirmations should be general. Depending on your regular everyday speech patterns, creating an artist’s affirmation that states “I am creative when I paint” could be potentially harmful. This affirmation sounds exclusive, and as you come to believe in this artist’s affirmation, you may begin to believe that you are only creative when you paint. Thus, ‘I am a creative person’ would be better.

Many examples of artist affirmations are listed below and if practiced these artist affirmations regularly you will not only discover your creative self but also become a successful artist.

‘As I create and listen, I will be led’

‘Creativity is the creator’s will for me’

‘I am truly a gifted artist’

‘Through the use of a few simple tools, my creativity will flourish’

‘My creativity always leads me to success’

‘I am willing to create’

‘I am willing to learn to let myself create’

Lots of people really become very committed to their affirmations. They speak the affirmations in the morning when they awake. They speak the affirmations at night before they fall asleep. You can hear them speaking the affirmations at every moment – in the shower, while they cook and when they are walking the dog. Day in day out the affirmations are right there on the front of their minds. Some people even turn the affirmations into a sort of chant that continues on all day long. Sounds like a winning formula to me.

Well, it is, sort of. Affirmations work best when repeated many times over and over. This repetition helps the inner mind change and fall in line with whatever it is you are focusing on. Over time the repeating of the affirmations will change how you think about your desired outcome and in turn change how you feel, behave and the decisions you make. What tends to happen with hyper- affirming, like described above, is that the person who is doing the affirming becomes paralyzed with their current life situation. Sometimes the affirmations turn into an intense desire that cancels out whatever is happening right now. It is as if the person starts to hibernate, waiting until the affirmation comes to pass.

As mentioned, affirmations work best when repeated over and over – but not over and over all day long! The purpose of affirming is to slowly change your inner perceptions about your life – not to blot out your current life situation. Affirming all day long will not help you get to your goal faster. It will put you in automatic mode – you need your mind working, not on mute!

Affirmations work best when your mind is impressionable:

1. First thing in the morning while you are getting awake.

2. Last thing at night when you are falling asleep.

3. During meditation or journaling.

4. While walking alone and enjoying the outdoors.

5. During a visualization time (some do this while meditating).

6. When you are feeling bombarded with thoughts of fear regarding not achieving your affirmation. At these times let the affirmations rip fast and furious to get yourself back in balance.

You will find that affirming three or four times a day is sufficient if you are focused while you are doing the affirming. As mentioned in number six keep the affirmations flowing if you are feeling overwhelmed with fear. At these times the chanting method is actually quite helpful. Remember to turn it off and come back to reality once your feel back in line with your desired outcome.

Other than that go live your life – the one you have right now. Your affirmations will come to pass over time as your inner self becomes more aligned with what you are affirming. Racing through affirmations over and over all day long will only prevent you from seeing what is perfect in your life right now – and keep you focused away from your current reality which you need to attend to if you want it to become something else.

Affirmations are a very healthy and natural way to bring happiness in our lives. An affirmation is a thought we think or words we say to our self. These thoughts and sayings are directly linked to our sub-consciousness which guides our consciousness in a certain direction. These directions can either lead to a positive or negative change. By listening to affirmations on CD, you can create positive change in your life every day through the use of the subliminal messaging power that the affirmations on CD can create.

Everyday we have thousands of thoughts and many of which we repeat over and over again. Everyone wants these affirmations to work positively for them but with our busy lives we are not able to give much thought to them or are not able to perform an affirmation technique successfully. For this reason many affirmation CDs are created and are easily available in the market.

Different affirmation CDs cover many areas of life, such as self-esteem problems, general positive affirmations, spiritual awareness, helping with a weight problem, gaining a healthy life, for happiness and many more are easily available. These discs are available from many online retailers, and many local hypnotists can also create a customized versions for you.

The price of these items on the internet is around $20. However, you can create your own affirmations on CD quickly and easily if you use special software to record your own voice. This is not anywhere near as difficult as it sounds. Once you have the software and understand the basics of writing positive affirmations, you can create a powerful disc in less than one hour. And, the best part of using your own software is that you can create custom subliminal messages to deal with your own particular problems, and you can make as many products as you would like.

To achieve your goals with these products, you need to listen to them many times a day. For example, when you get up in the morning, play the music while getting ready for work, school or any place you are planning to go. Also try listening to it while you are in your car, when you are a little bit distracted by the message. Listen to it during later part of the day as well and even before going to bed. While you work, play an affirmation CDs in the background as your subconscious listens to everything that plays around you. It is even suggested that if you listen to affirmation CD’s while you sleep, it also helps you achieve your goal as your subconscious listens to it while your mind is at rest.

The idea with affirmations on CD is to allow the messages to pervade your unconscious mind, which is best done when you are not concentrating on the music or the message itself. When you are distracted, you operate on autopilot, and that is when the unconscious mind is best able to be influenced. This is similar to what happens when you get a song stuck in your head; the song was likely heard on the radio when you were driving, or playing in the background when you were talking with your friend. Sometimes we don’t know exactly when the message will sink in, or even if it is happening. With subliminal messages and affirmations, there is a time delay. For the majority of people, change may not happen immediately, but it will happen over time. For others, they will notice a change right away.

Affirmations constantly need to be repeated over a period of time before affirmations can become effective. Patience is a main factor while following this regiment. It takes time for our mind to completely accept new positive affirmations and start believing them to be true. After this our conscious then guides us towards a goal which we have planned to achieve through these affirmations CDs. Reaching your goal can take from many week to months but affirmation CDs do, in fact, work.

Affirmations on CD are a very good choice and once you introduce them into your life, it will give you a positive result and change your life forever.
